Q&Cs worth it at Pop food court?

I'm trying to figure out how many vouchers to order for our trip. It will be me and my DFiance. We will be staying at Pop Century for 8 nights.

I'm wondering if the vouchers will be worth it in the food court. We will probably be eating quite a few meals there. DF is planning to take a break mid-day to swim, then eat, then relax for a couple hours.

Do you think it would be better to buy a bunch of vouchers or to buy refillable mugs and then order whatever else off of the menu? I'm leaning towards buying the vouchers because we both love desserts. :D

I used the vouchers there in April. Most of the meals came to $13.00. I was able to save some but not much. I got the vouchers because I wanted most of our meals prepaid.

Most CM allowed my son and I get bottled drinks with the vouchers. Only one refused to do it. I just left her line and went to another.

We both had the mugs so we kept saved the bottled drinks for the room or the parks.

We'll be staying at PC on our next trip and I plan to use the vouchers again.

I'll look for my receipts from our trip and post a few examples of how we used the vouchers at Pop.

Thanks!

Great idea about the bottled drinks. I never even thought of doing that.

DF wasn't too excited about sharing meals until I mentioned the prices. "$13.00 for lunch!?" were his exact words. He reluctantly agreed that we could share vouchers then. I think he thinks we won't have enough food and that I'm trying to starve him or something. I've been telling him if it's not enough food we can supplement it with another side dish or something but I think he has selective hearing about this stuff. He also can't understand why we can go to McDonalds here and both eat for $10 and we can't really do that at WDW without sharing. *sigh* I have my work cut out for me.

We did the best when sharing the small pizza (we were surprised with how filling it was for the two of us..and with the voucher you can get all the toppings you want). We ordered the pizza, got the large bottled orange juice (which I saved in ice for morning..since we have the mugs and I don't care for lemonade with breakfast), the fruit & cheese for our side, which we ate at the pool (ours had grapes, cheese, crackers and a strawberry or two), and apple pie ala mode (we asked them to put the ice cream in another container, so it it didn't melt very fast). It came to about $20 (I have the exact amount posted here somewhere from when we went in June). We asked for extra plates and we were all set.

I just returned from a 9 day stay at Pop. It was wonderful!!!! We are very sad to be home! We also used the vouchers at Pop food court. If you have purchased your vouchers from hotwire at 11.50 each you will save about 3 dollars a meal when eating at the food court. However, what is nice is number one the meals are prepaid, and because of this you have the liberty of ordering what you want instead of looking for the cheapest way out. I know with out the vouchers we would have never paid for dessert and they were yummy! Also we would have never gotten the most expensive entrees and etc. So it nice being able to do that and not worry about saving money. Plus it is a ton of food!!! And don't forget if you are going in the summer months our appetites were way down with the heat! Have a great trip.

You are so right, the desserts were great! I loved the apple cobbler with caramel sauce.:cool1:

The only down side that I can think of that I had with the vouchers, is that we wasted a lot of food. Most of the time my son and I can not agree on the same thing, so sharing isn't always an option. Since I didn't get a fridge, I didn't have a way to store the left overs.

We were there for 10 days and the amount of food we wasted was ridiculous.

I plan to use the vouchers in the future but I'll get a fridge to cut down on the waste.

I've stayed at pop 5 times this year since my DS(3) loves it, and I really don't see any way 2 adults with normal appetites could share 1 voucher. There is just not enough food on the plates or in the baskets.

I don't think the vouchers are worth it at pop because the food, honestly, isn't that great and I feel that the amount of food served is smalller than typical resturants. The pizza is barely bigger than a pizza hut personal pan pizza, if you order the cheeseburger basket they practically count out the fries they add on top, so there is very little added. The specialty food things like the chinese food, mom's special, etc, were small as well, and I saw many of them stuck in the regrigerator sections because people had changed their minds. And there were just a few deserts that were interesting, like the tie-dye cheesecake.

I think it's better to expect that each adult would need a voucher of their own, which in my opinion is a waste of money, unless you absolutly didn't want to spend any money on food at the resort.

Better to get the refillable mugs, eat small stuff in the room, and eat at the parks!

just my 2 cents

And if we were only sharing the pizza..you would be right. But we get a side as well. We often share the salad or the fruit/cheese platter (there is a lot of grapes and cheese with that)..and always get the apple pie (it's a very big slice!) a la mode..with the ice cream on the side...and it's a hugh scoop. It's the only time we get dessert..and it very much fills us up. While I'm not pooh sized, I'm no skinny minnie either.
We have also shared the double hamburger, and pay for an extra roll (under $1)..that, the fires and a side (which they allow) with dessert, fills us up. In fact most meals we get fill us up...at POP, and other places. At B & C, we also get the double hamburger, and subsitute for onion rings...or we'll get the chili and the salad with chicken (he gets the chili, I get the salad w/chicken). We seldom finish the shared banana split.
