Putting child on Signature AP rest on Deluxe

We are a family of five. My husband and I don't always go to Disneyland together. We were thinking of getting deluxe annual passes and having one of the kids get a signature ap so we could use the parking and discounts. I heard that Disneyland is cracking down on that and the person using the signature pass has to have their credit card match the name on the pass. We used to have one of our kids have a premier pass and never had any problems . Anyone have any experience with this.

Or you could just pay cash. But yes for a few years now the pass name and CC name have had to match.

Last week I saw a woman denied use of a discount at Coke Corner because she had her 2 children's APs and couldn't fine her own in her wallet. One the the kids, who looked about preschool age was with her, but no ID.

We've had this issue. The child has to pay and needs ID. Easy solution is to buy gift cards and have the child pay with a gift card. Sit down restaurants aren't usually a problem, but merchandise and counter/quick service do request ID.

So what does a kid do when they don't have ID? I'm not talking have them pay for my stuff, I'm talking if they want to go to the gift shop on their own type of thing. My two youngest are 11 so still grade school, no school ID here until middle school. Been wondering how this is going to work.

Ours all had IDs. You can get a state ID for them. My 6yo granddaughter has a state ID, just makes life easier.

I just looked up state IDs. They need birth certificate, SS Card AND two forms of mail with their name and address. Unless they accept birthday cards from grandma and grandpa I'm not sure where those will come from.

If that's what they want, mail them a letter. Our state ID also requires 2 forms of mail but looking under what items qualify a report card, bank statement, tuition invoice, school letter or credit report will count.

When my son got my granddaughter's, he brought her social security card, her birth certificate that lists him as her father, and his driver's license with his address and his vehicle registration card with the same address sufficed for the ID for her. You don't need a letter from grandma and grandpa.

ETA - Here is the requirement for CA.

• *A parent, legal guardian, or child may use a birth certificate, a spouse or domestic partner may use a marriage license domestic partner registration certificate to trace his/her relationship to the individual to whom the acceptable residency document(s) were addressed

If they don't have ID then they don't get the discount. That is how it would work without IDs.

When I got my kids IDs (when we were going to Canada), we brought birth certificate and SS card and other things (I think maybe an official enrollment thing from the school), but it turned that as a parent listed on the birth certificate, having that, the SS card, and my driver's license was enough as the kids were both under 18, and living in my house.

I realized they do have bank statements from their savings accounts after posting. Report cards don't, just their student ID number. Probably could ask school for letters though, thanks.

I'm in Nevada and haven't found anything like that for minors, only that they have to be over ten and the requirements for State ID. I have to get my DL renewed next week so I will ask then. I would rather they have the IDs and not need them rather than get there and have issues.

To contradict most of the posters on this thread, we have done this with no problems.

My three-year-old is Signature; I'm Deluxe. We go at least a few times a month and generally buy several items while we are there, so that's easily been over 100 transactions. I have NEVER had a problem using her pass with my ID and have been repeatedly told that, "as long as the last names match, you're fine." (And I mean, if I did have an issue, I'd just pull out my Deluxe pass and miss out on that little % difference in discount, so that's hardly a crisis in my opinion.) But every time I say, "this is her pass," and they reassure me it's fine.

What if that child is sick one day and you take the others? Then you will have to pay parking. I always get the Signature pass in my name. That way, I get to go solo and get my free parking. I often take only one of my kids too, so it works better to have it in my name.

I thought there wasn't a difference in AP pricing for kids vs adults. The last time I bought my grandkids their passes they paid the same as adults.
Not sure why you would put the signature pass in the kids name.

That's the only way to do it and get the signature discounts if the kid will always go, but not necessarily both parents at the same time.

Is is so that no matter what parent takes the child the parking is free and higher discount given.
