Purchasing tickets on the day

Is it the same price to purchase tickets the day I plan on going to disneyland, I want to buy a one day park hopper tickets. I also understand that the ticket booths open 1 hour before the parks? I am coming from Wales and do not want to purchase the tickets in advance just in case we don't make it. Thank you guys

If you are just going for one day, as far as I know, DL does not offer any discounted tickets via a resale outlet.

The ticket lines can be quite long at DL. Early morning and late nights the lines are much, much shorter. If you are staying near the park and check-in the day before, I highly recommend going a little out of your way the night before and picking up your ticket for the following day. IMO, it will make the day you want to visit get off to a smooth start and you won't be standing in line frustrated at how long it is taking to get your ticket.

To answer your other question: Yes the ticket booths do open 1 hour before the parks open and stay open 1 hour after the parks close.

Also, your hotel may sell tickets; check with them before you come. Fast and easy to purchase at check-in.

If you are there early, when the ticket windows open, you will have no worries at all. DL is not like WDW. People only line up at the entrances to the parks under 1 hour from opening. Security won't even let you through to get in line over an hour from the park opening. At least that has been my experience.

Early morning should have very low lines (if any to speak of at all).

The rule of thumb is...if there is NO security personnel present and you can just walk on through to the ticket lines in the early morning, don't, because you'll be told to move out of that area once security gets there. Then you'll be behind the people who showed up later and got into the area where the bag check lines will be. So if there's no security, stand where the tables and awnings area, because that's where bag check will be. You'll be among the first through to the esplanade once it's properly open, go get into line for tickets, and it will work out well.

I could not believe how long the lines were the last day of our trip! We have always purchased our tickets through a travel agent or at the hotel. If possible, I would try and get them before your first day and avoid that line -- it was complete craziness!

You can also buy tickets from your phone, show it at the turnstile and they will give you a paper ticket there or if you park in the Toy Story lost, you can buy from there as well.
