I wanted to purchase some pins for our upcoming trip in November. What online site would you recommend to purchase pins from that sells authentic trading pins? Also, what is a good price per pin when purchasing a grab bag? And, one last question, this is our first trip to WDW so we are completely new to pin trading. How many pins would you suggest a 5, 6 and 12 year old should start their collection with? And would pin trading be good for all three of them?

Any tips/suggestions would be great!

Trading will be great for all of them. Go to mousepinsonline.com and check their grab bags, they have really great prices and really good trading pins. They also have lanyards but they aren't Disney, just regular lanyards. Our family of 4 can easily go thru 100 pins when we are there for an extended trip. MPO should have grab bags for $1.79 per pin plus shipping if you get the bag of 100.

Thanks for the info! I just had pretty much the same questions.
I thought it might be fun for DD to have some pins to trade for our upcoming trip, so I bought a grab bag of 25 on eBay for $1.34/pin with free shipping. So it seems I got a fair price. They claim they are all tradeable, but even if they aren't DD will probably still enjoy them, since she's still of an age where quantity is more important that quality.

Be aware that at this price most of the Hidden Mickey's you got will probably be scrappers, which are overruns or seconds that are sold on the secondary market and they are not approved by Disney. Unfortunately many of the regular people traders will probably refuse trades your DD wants to make. The CM's will likely trade with her with no issues but others may not be so nice about it. Just an fyi. :)

Thanks for the heads up. We're not serious pin collectors or anything, so no big deal for us. I was only going to have DD trade with CM's, so we're fine with that.
