Can park tickets still be purchased at the Disney resorts? Also, how exactly does the biometrics work - can one person in our party purchase all the tickets or does everyone have to be present. Thanks for your help.

I can't answer your question about buying tickets at the resorts- but on the biometrics thing... they don't scan your hand with the card when you BUY them, they do it the first time you use them. So anyone can buy them, but the first time that card is used (I gather from what I'm reading this applies only to adult tickets, not children's?) they will scan the hand and then from then on that ticket can only be used when the SAME HAND (fingers) scans with it.

You may buy tickets at the resorts, but to have any annual passes activated, you must to that at the parks.

All MYW tickets are biometrics, which means that the 1st time you go through the gates, the bone structure of you hands (distance between the 2 fingers) is measured. Then everytime you go back, it is checked against the 1st reading. The correct way to do it is to place your right index and middle fingers into the machine so that they webbing between those fingers is flush against the black knob, then squeeze tightly. Make sure to always use the same hand everytime you enter.
