Purchasing Genie+ upon entering park

I am slowly making my way through the thread about Genie+ so excuse me if this has already been answered somewhere else...

We are traveling to DLR in late May...me, DH, DD16 and DD's friend. This is our first time traveling with a friend and our DD16 is looking forward to spending her days with a friend rather than with her parents! She has already said that they will probably sleep in, arriving around 11:00 a.m. each day and then staying through closing. On all of our past trips, we are usually one of the first families at the gates. And we have never stayed until closing!

So...if DH and I enter a park at opening, will we be able to purchase Genie+ for all 4 tickets, or only our 2 tickets because the other 2 haven't scanned in yet?

You can only buy Genie+ once a ticket has been scanned into a park, so you will only be able to buy it for you and your DH. Your DD16 and her friend will have to buy it when they scan into a park at 11am or whatever time they get there.

If you’ve not purchased tickets yet, you can purchase them with G+ already attached if you would like. This eliminates the need for doing so when you enter the park or doing it at separate times for different members of the party. The reputable 3rd party (undercover tourist) we use has this option. If you want to schedule rides together through G+ after they arrive you will have to wait until they scan in to do so. Added bonus, the UCT tickets are discounted!

The above is true. However, on multi-day tickets you have to buy G+ for every day in your ticket purchase (ie 4 day hopper AND 4 days of G+). If you wait to enter the park, you can purchase it by the day, if you are unsure you'd want it for each day.

Yes, I was thinking of purchasing Genie+ ahead with the tickets. But we realized that we only want 1 day of Genie+ and 2 days without...so that would be a huge waste of money. My DD has decided that she and her friend will get up early on the day that we are buying Genie+ and sleep late the other 2 mornings...compromise with a teenager!

Sorry about that, we got 3 day PHs and added G+ so I wasn't thinking about the 1 day of the trip scenario. I'm glad they gave into the best plan for them. They may groan the a lot until they get on the first ride with little to no wait....they they will sing your praises....We have our teenage son and his friend going with us over President's weekend (his birthday) and he's been so condition to get going early at Disney he really doesn't grumble much. We just have to get food into him fast....
