Hello all,

I'm not quite sure if there is a thread already on this. I have looked and cannot seem to find.

But has anyone ever purchased a RESALE contract with a Disney Visa Chase CC and if you did would you recommend a small point contract being put onto the CC to take advantage of collecting points? e.g Does it show up as a Disney required purchase?

Thank you all in advance!

It will not code as a Disney purchase because it’s not a purchase from Disney. It’s like buying Mickey slippers at Walmart - yes they are a Disney product but it won’t code that way.

Ahhhh! perfect, thank you!

Does anyone have an idea of what it might possibly code as? Trying to maximize this purchase as much as possible, if it goes through lol

It likely is going to code as a timeshare purchase and qualify for the lowest possible benefit. Most posts you see will be old about how its a travel charge that over time CC companies have caught on to.

I put my resale deposit on my Capital One Venture which gives 2% for all purchases and that’s what it did. The charge was the name of the title company.

some will allow the deposit up to 2500 on a credit card but I haven't seen any that will take a credit card for more than that. Also, not all brokers will take a credit card as the deposit.

thanks for the heads up!
I would go in not planing to use a cc. Then if you can even better. I know our first we couldn’t. And the three that Disney has taken we couldn’t either. The one that just closed is the first time I’ve been able to use a cc.

I wonder how much disney approves for her CC's?? we have good credit but only wanna apply if we get a large amount i.e. 25 to 30k

You have another Chase CC as you can transfer balance. No clue what you could be approved for but what you are outlining is possibly credit limits that they would apply.

My wife was approved in that range; she had only 1 other Chase CC which I think helps tremendously. If you’re the kind of person who knows the rotating Chase freedom bonuses, transfers points from their Freedom Unlimited and Freedom to their Sapphire card, and has the Marriott and Southwest cards to boot, Chase may not be so generous when extending a 6th line of credit.

Some of those cards might be with Chase though so you can just transfer some if not most of those credit lines in to the Disney VISA.

To clarify you call Chase and say you want to try and consolidate your credit limit higher on the Disney card. They will look it up and check how much can be moved.

We have 2 Chase cards (Disney and Southwest) and our Disney one has a $35-40K limit and the Southwest is slightly lower. I purposely opened the Southwest in only my name so my husband can get one in his name down the road when we need another good chunk of points (opening bonus). So, that may be why that limit is a bit lower, or maybe it's because I already have a card with Chase. Don't know.

My Disney card was opened the year the card became available and they have offered me credit line increases, but I always decline. Our credit was just as good all those years ago, but our income was much lower. So, I'd guess we'd have a much higher limit if I was applying today.

For those of you who have the Disney CC.. if you apply and are approved, How soon after you are approved can you use the card??

As soon as you receive it in the mail. You might be able to call them to get it expedited (this is assuming you apply during a promotional period for extra points/statement credit, which is done via an online process)

if they will let you pay with a cc, it would be more advantageous to use something like a citi double cash or something of the sort. disney visa does not incentivize past 1% and they are the lowest of all incentives. they are only good if you need 6 months to pay off a trip.

I currently use my Chase Sapphire for all DVC charges, since it codes as travel & gives me 2X. However, I just received an email this past week saying my Chase Freedom Unlimited is now going to give 5X for the travel category (instead of the usual 1.5 for all categories). That’s the best travel reward I’ve ever seen (especially on a free CC!)!!

Be careful with that! I received the same offer and my head almost fell off. The 5% back on travel is only available on purchases made via the Chase Rewards marketplace. So it won't help with Disney related travel. I may not be savvy enough, but I have never seen any deals on their site. Your Sapphire is probably still the way to go.
