Purchasing daily park hopper then converting.

My family was planning on purchasing a 6 day park hopper now for our trip in February, then converting it to an AP, so we don’t have to pay all at once. If we purchase from an outside vendor such as tickets at work, or UT, do we end up seeing that savings on the AP, or have to make up the difference when converting? TIA

I think, no savings. But there is a dedicated ticket thread pinned on the Theme Parks Advice and Strategies forum. Your question should be answered in the first of second post.

You will retain whatever savings you had with the 3rd party purchase. So if you can save $30 buying a 6-day hopper from UT, then upgrade to an AP, your actual out-of-pocket will be $30 less than the posted AP price. You'll get credit for the full value of the ticket you purchase from UT even though you saved $30.

Enjoy your vacation!

Not all bridge the price. Lmtclub does for sure, but I know other vendors like Gt Away Today do not.

Lanejudy is correct, no matter where you get your ticket you get full credit towards the gateprice of the ticket. You then just pay the difference in price.

I’m not familiar with those vendors, but I’m guessing they are like Expedia or Orbitz - which are essentially online travel agents. If they sell true WDW Theme Park tickets, it should be upgrade-able; however if they sell “package deals” they may include some other type of ticket that can’t be upgraded (like special conference tickets or such). OP was specifically asking about Undercover Tourist or Tickets at Work, which are both authorized WDW ticket resellers.

Those two vendors (LMT and GAT) are primarily known on the Disneyland board :D

Ah, ok. Disneyland tickets are a different animal completely. I can't say how those might be handled. My answer is specific to WDW tickets. And after a quick peek at those websites it doesn't look as though either of those vendors sells stand-alone WDW tickets.
