Purchase decisions made based on faulty information on WDWInfo.com could be costly

This totaly screams red flag... Lets all just slowly turn around and then run like hell from this topic.
NO!!! Let's all STAY here and blow EVERYTHING out of proportion! :rotfl2:

why if you own DVC would you buy tickets from Undercover Tourist?
DVC members can buy an AP for the cost of a florida Resident AP, $100 off each AP.
sounds like someone wasn't doing their homework.

I don't know anything about this issue, but I have DVC and don't want or need a WDW AP, because it wouldn't be worth it for a once a year visit.

We are also DVC members for almost 10 years and have yet to buy Annual Passes.

We have mostly bought our tickets through Disney and twice through the Mousesavers links when it linked it to ticketmania. The last time we bought was in 05 and we bought three 10 day park hoppers w/plusses, non-expiry. We actually started using our 10 day park hopper plus last August. We only used 4 days out of the 10 (and did not use any plusses). We still have the other pass not used yet. I wish we had bought more. We usually get at least two/three trips from them.

They were so much cheaper then of course, lol. I think we bought two for about $357 and then immediately decided to purchase another one and the price had gone up to something like $378.

I would like to know what the supposed error on the web-site was that led the OP to buying their pass, and not being happy about it.

Hey gang, didn't mean to stir things yesterday. We had just come home from AKL where we used our DVC points for the first time ever, very exciting!!

Yes, the blackout dates were posted incorrectly for seasonal passes and we didn't double-check on the Disney site and just bought them, but the good news is that we can upgrade the tickets to annual passes for just the difference between the two. I know a lot was made and for a few hours I got kicked off the boards but I'm glad we worked it out and in all reality I was just tired from the trip and upset about the mistake.

I am a Florida resident, so I think I am getting the best deal already on the annual passes. That said, we live 45 mins from the parks, I REALLY like traveling all the way there knowing that I'm still at home and can invite family. If you are thinking about buying a DVC timeshare, I highly recommend it especially if you have young kids. We went through the Timeshare Store and although Disney bought back (ROFR) my first two offers they gave in to my third and I really feel that I got a decent deal although my first two were very very nice.

That said, I got 180 points, Beach Club, March, with 180 points from 2009 and 15 points from 2008. We had to use the 15 points before March or we'd lose them. Its going to be a great year, we also paid for a 4-day Disney Cruise as well. Mickey, Mickey, Mickey!:yay:

The error on the site was that the blackout dates for FR SP's were Dec19th through Jan 1st. We made our decision based on that to proceed with buying the SPs since we live close by. When I got to will call, the clerk showed me the blackout dates which included the whole summer. Its just the feeling of acting on incorrect info and then being somewhere and getting the gotcha when you weren't expecting it.:sad1:

I contacted the site managers and they corrected the information on the site. :grouphug:

I'm not an old person (OP), just tired as I'm in school, running a company, and raising two little boys.

That all said, since we are really close to the parks anyway we're going to upgrade to annual passes which would allow my wife to take the kids there year-round. :yay:

Really glad to hear it all worked out and that you had a great time. :)

Glad it worked out for you. And don't be offended by the "OP" term. That just means you were the original poster to this thread. :thumbsup2

Hilarious! Just hilarious! Thanks everyone, I need to learn the symbols. Truth is I'm getting a lot closer to being an OP these days.

Hi all,

Just to clear up any confusion. We do not list any information regarding annual pass blackout dates etc. We do not have them for sale either.

The OP was referring to out of date information from a different website, not Undercover Tourist. I believe the link they posted to the different website did not appear due to posting restrictions.

Thank you.

I would like to add a big :thumbsup2 to UnderCover Tourist. We ahve purchased from them 4 or 5 times over the past three years and have found them to be accurate and provide great service!!!:goodvibes

maybe this thread should be removed. It doesn't contain relevant info any more and it sort of makes UCT look bad, even though the OP wasn't even talking about them!

same here we don't buy annual passes because while yes we did make 3 quick trips which I would have benefited from an annual pass the three close trips is NOT the norm for us and chances are will only go every other year or even less with Hawaii opening. so no owning DVC doesn't mean it's cost effective to have an annual pass.

Gianjoe, that must have hurt to find out about the seasonal passes and their true blockout dates! I know about it only b/c my cousin has them and talks to me about the dates they can't go.

Just in case you want to edit your post's title to reflect that it's worked out, you can click Edit, then Go Advanced, and change the title.

And a good thing you can know is that since you informed wdwinfo, they were able to fix their website, so that no one else will have the same problem.
