Puppy Name

I am getting a new puppy. It is a female West Highland Terrier (Westie). I need a cute name for her. It does not have to be a Disney name, but I am open to them too. Any suggestions?

Can you describe her apperance? That would help pick out a more personalized name.

She is solid white and she will stay pretty small. She almost looks like a Scottish Terrier or Cairn Terrier.

My sisinlaw has Westies. They are named Zoe and Salty. She used to have an Ollie, but he died an old man. She also has cats named Popcorn called Poppy, and Pickles.

I think Popcorn and Salty are both cute for a Westie.

My neighbors had a Westie named Buttons.

My parents just got a puppy from TN....drove 10 1/2 hours for a shelter mutt! (long story)
Anyway, we thought it should be named something to commemorate where it came from. It was in Jackson, TN. Madison County. The Pringles (chip) factory is there. We also thought (based on a friend's recommendation) that Minnie would be a great name b/c it was black, and a small dog (mini) plus my parents like Disney. We also came up with other TN related names....Smokey, Dolly, etc.

In the end, my kids called the puppy Maddie a lot (short for Madison) so the name, so far, has stuck.

The cool thing is, not only did she come from Madison County in TN, WE live in Madison County OHIO!

So, where did your pup come from??? Anything around that area that you could work with?

I love westies! Since it is a Scottish dog maybe we can come up with a name that is Scottish. Have you read the Outlander series?? How about Claire or Brenna? Morag? Even Maggie is a cute dog name IMHO. I was looking on the net and came up with Bess, Libby, Meg, Maude, Gelis, Beatrix, Bonnie, Grear, well, you get the point. I kinda go nuts over names, ya think?

Our neighbor has a male named McDuff. He is a darling.

You can see my westie in my avatar whose name is Coconut! People find it ironic we call a white dog 'coco' - but it totally fits! Our black scottie's name is Linus
