Pumpkins, Pirates & Poppins-A Magical Halloween Cruise W/PICS-COMPLETE!!!!!

How nice, i come back from thanksgiving and find 3 updates...loved the first two, and thanks for the food pictures.

congrats on winning the contest. You guys looked great in your costumes. The massage sounded great.

I layed the ground work for the cruise this weekend, her parents said they watched a special on the Disney cruise, and her dad said he would love to do a cruise, just not sure if he wants to do a disney one, said he wonders if there would be to many kids. I ensured him that all cruises have kids, and all the areas that kids can go to, and about the adults only pool, and other areas, and i think i might be winning that battle.

Her brother wants to do the 7 day one, i am potitioning them for a 4 nighter, and a few days in the world.

Babies first words to them will be "cruise grandpa cruise"
:thumbsup2

So this is where I spoiled my surprise!!! I followed your link to your trippie from here - got busy reading, sorry, haven't gotten far enough to reply - only on 10/09 - anyway, I kept thinking, "now how did I know she was pregnant? Where did I read it?" DUH! I am blonde, so anyway congratulations and I'm sure grandpa will want to go anywhere with his grandbaby - we have 3 and we will be anywhere they are!

Melanie - I am so relaxed after....reading.........your...........spa.......................experience..............
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzOH! Where was I? Thanks for sharing!..............tea looked good, too!

Hey Dan.........good job on getting the inlaws on board with the cruise. Start out with a 4 night & then work your way up. You will be cruising before you know it!!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks, I knew you would be proud. That is what i figured, I think I can get that 4 nighter in. DW and I were talking last night, and I might try and get another trip in this June coming up. The only cost for the June trip would be the plane tickets, because we can stay with my parents and we already have tickets. Dad will pick up the food and everything. DW will be on maternity leave, WDW here we come. I think I can pull it off, I can use it as DW's birthday gift for an excuse, I am full of Disney surprises.

Thats okay, some suprises are okay to spoil. Thank you very much, you are almost caught up to us, keep reading, and come and join the party. I am sure he will also, he was going crazy on Thanksgiving walking around and showing off DW's belly to everyone that he could, he is gonna be so happy. He told me that he wants to do trial runs from there house to ours and figure out the best way to get to the hospital when she is having the baby. He is so funny when he is talking about those things with us.

Loved the update, good thing you did not go into detail on the spa thing for the day, I was hoping that you would keep it G rated for the younger readers out there.:lmao: I loved the 10 minute warning they give you, like okay time to get done, we are coming in soon.

That desert looked awesome, I want some, did you bring any home with you.

I am guessing that the mystery couple showed up and it was there honeymoon, that is why they were not there the other nights for dinner.

OOH OOH, PICK ME!!! It must be the mystery couple!:rotfl2:

I am so hooked on your TR!!
...t.
Glad I have you hooked....we have a few more installments, but it will be over soon. :sad2: You might be right! :thumbsup2

I am a G rated kinda writer....besides no one wants to know all that much detail. :scared1:
I wish I could have brought some of the desserts home. I did bring home 5 extra pounds because of those desserts. :rotfl:
Hmmmmmmmmm almost right Dan!

Disney Dreams was number one on our agenda. We headed out to the Walt Disney theatre. Brent introduced the show, after giving us the news that we might not make it in to Castaway Cay tomorrow because of the weather. The captain was going to reserve making the decision until in the morning & they would let us know early what was going to happen. So now that we were all bummed out, better start the show.
I  this show. It is sooooo Disney & so magical. It is the story of Anne Marie & she is visited by Peter Pan. P.S. These pictures were all taken without a flash. :goodvibes:
100_0925.jpg

She has to learn how to have FAITH, TRUST & PIXIEDUST before she can fly with Peter. It is a great show & the music & costumes are wonderful.
Belle tells her story.
100_0931.jpg

I think this might be my favorite picture from the show.

Ariel wants to be part of that world.

The best dreams are Disney Dreams……..

After it was over & I wiped the speck out of my eye that was making it water , we headed to Sessions to spend some more time listening to the piano player, while waiting for dinner time. We had another martini….Eric had another ivory keys & I had a mae west. The waitress brought us out a cheese platter & we snacked on the yummy cheese & listened to the romantic music. This is a great, dark & calm place to relax before or after dinner. Soon, it was time to head to Parrot Cay for dinner.
100_0957.jpg

Tonights menu was the Captain’s Gala….lobster night.
100_0953.jpg

I had wild forrest mushroom soup.....really good, baked lobster tail.....too die for & cherries jubilee which it said they would flambe' at table side but they didn't. It was still yummy.
I didn’t take any pictures of my food tonight, but it was really good. The 6 of us were sitting there, when all of a sudden we were joined by the Mystery Couple who had been missing in action all week. They were from Florida & he works for DVC. They were not newlyweds…we told them we had decided they were, but said they had been dining at Palo all week. Now, I don’t know if they had connections or what, but I had no idea you could do this. Plus, I don’t think I would want to eat there every night, it would seem like that would make it less special & it’s awfully rich food. I also wouldn’t want to miss out on the regular restaurants. :confused3 Anyway, we were a full table for the first time. We all chatted & ate our yummy food.

After dinner, we went to Rockin’ Bar D as per ususal & watched the variety show with Freddy Fusion. He was pretty funny & did some pretty neat tricks.
Here he is with his pal Bill the duck.
100_0959.jpg

After the show, it was time for One Hit Wonders. This was a new theme night & it was fun. They would play a part of the song & ask who knew the song & artist & if you were right you got a shot. Trent came out in the crowd & would pick whoever was singing & dancing. We both got picked & got ours right…..Ice/Ice Baby & We’re Not Gonna Take It. We stayed after & danced to the Elite Band’s music & Eric & our table mate Ellis got pulled up on stage to the do a little dance for the crowd-to be exact they were supposed to do the MC Hammer Dance to "Can't Touch Dis". It was funny & cute to watch my DH try to do this & giving up & letting go & just doing whatever dance he was comfortable doing....go Honey!!!!!!!!!!
100_0962-1.jpg

It was too funny. I have video of both of them, but I fear I might get kilt if I posted that. It was another great night at Rockin’ Bar D.

I can’t say enough about the cruise staff…they are great & you really feel like you get to know them over the week. Natalie from England called me Mary Poppins the rest of the week after Halloween & it was nice to be recognized & greeted. Trent was very good at getting people involved in the parties even on nights when there weren’t as many people. DJ Mike was great as well…..playing lots of good music. We stayed after & listened to Elite band again…..they were not that great…the band was good but the girl singer left a lot to be desired.
Elite Show Band……..with funky wigs.

When we got back to the room, this was waiting on us.

Next up……..do we make it to Castaway & is it really almost over?????

Melanie, none of us want your TR to end!! I look forward to each one of your entries - you're very entertaining and seem like such a nice person, (just like Mary Poppins!). :goodvibes

Thanks so much for sharing your cruise with us!!

Lobster, yummm! Sounds like your mystery DVC couple must have had quite an in! What is Cherries Jubilee - sounds delish. Looks like there were some new fun activities - thanks for sharing!

Well did you talk him into giving you guys a discount on the DVC, or a couple of free stays or something?
:thumbsup2

Dinner sounds good, but is that the only chose Lobster?

The karaoki singing stuff looks great, not that I would go and make a fool of myself or anything.:rolleyes1

Darn it that the report is almost over.

Keep up the good work.

Awww thanks capnjack. That is very nice of you to say. I have a few more entries. I don't want it to be over either.

Yeah, we wondered how they could go to Palo every night. :confused3 Cherries Jubilee is like sauteed cherries served with vanilla ice cream.

I dont want it to end either:cloud9:
Babs you are too sweet :goodvibes: I didn't want our cruise to end either.

Yeah, they weren't really too friendly seeing as how they didn't really seem to want to eat with us, so I didn't ask for any favors.
They had lots of other choices for dinner, but when I can have lobster & not have to pay for it..I'm all about that.
A few more updates to go.

I promise to get one up tonight.

I forgot to post this one. It was Day 7.....this was our picture from Semi-Formal night. I really like this one...maybe my favorite picture besides Mary Poppins & Bert.

So we woke up to the sounds of Brent at 7am announcing that as feared the night before we were not going to be able to dock at Castaway Cay because of the winds & weather. The captain was heading us to Nassau instead & there would be some tours available at the shore excursion desk if people were interested. We looked at each other, poked out our lips & turned over & went back to sleep.

We woke up & we were in Nassau.
100_0994.jpg

We had both been there before & decided we would just stay on the ship…in retrospect I wish we had gotten off & gone over to Atlantis which we have never done, but we didn’t. We didn’t even get off to take pictures of the Magic & Wonder docked side by side….I did take a few from Deck 10 though. This was the only cool part of being diverted from Castaway Cay. We heard varying things from this hadn’t happened in 3 to 6 years. The crew was excited & that was cool to see. We watched a few reunions & lots of hugging going on in between the 2 ships.
2 Disney ships side by side.....
100_0997.jpg

We went up to Topsiders for breakfast & then spent quite a bit of time strolling around Deck 10.
Here we are with the Wonder in the background

At the front of the ship
100_0993.jpg

Eric decided to head to the gym & I decided I wanted a nap—all the late nights had caught up with me at this point. After that, we went up to deck 10 & hung out for awhile visiting with DIS friends again. We had a drink of the day which was an apple madras today at the Quiet Cove pool. We really didn’t have a very active day. We just kind of enjoyed relaxing knowing that this was the last day of the cruise.
We hung out at the Goofy pool in the shade of the gazebo & watched Disney Music Trivia & then Elite band came out to perform. We had a Midori Colada too.
100_1004.jpg

We headed up to Deck 10 to watch us sail away from Nassau. We stopped & watched with fellow Diser Chris & his lovely family. We had a good time watching the crew waving at us from the Wonder…we even saw Donald Duck come out there waving.

The horns were blowing “When you wish upon a star” back & forth & that was really cool.
Here we are sailing away from the Wonder.
100_1015.jpg

And video of us moving away..........pardon us talking!!!!!!!!

Before too long, we were out to sea & headed back to Port Canaveral.
A last glimpse of the Wonder

A pretty lighthouse
100_1017.jpg

We went down to the future cruise desk & booked another cruise………. We booked the Oct 25, 2008 Double Dip but will probably move it forward to Oct 2009 & sail with our good disbuddies Kim, Paula & Chris & their families again. :grouphug:
100_1023.jpg

Next up..........
Remeber the Magic & to cry or not to cry...........

That's my favorite DCL show!

Oh, and tell your DH I can help him with his Hammer moves! I know them all!

No, really...I do! :rotfl:
Mine too!!!!!!!!!
I will let Eric know & maybe we can cruise together in the future & you can show him how's it's done Lindsey. :goodvibes:

Awesome update! Thanks for sharing the "reunion" pics of the Wonder - how fun! I have always thought it would be fun to have both ships in one place like that - can you imagine how jealous the Carnival folks were? You should have gone over to Atlantis! It is really fun! I was just there Oct 7 - 11 for a company trip. I got to see the Wonder parked outside my balcony! Next time - do Atlantis - it really is paradise, only the service is nowhere near Disney service! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the video!!! Now we get to hear what you guys sound like!!!

YOU LEFT THE WONDER ALONE WITH THAT CARNIVAL SHIP?????

How could you!!! :lmao: Poor Wonder...

I loved your picture on semi-formal night. I feel for you not stopping at Castaway Cay. That happened to us on our first cruise. We woke up on New Year's Day and looked out our port hole and saw only ocean. Not a good sign. They just turned it into a day at sea for us. I'm happy for you that you booked again. Looking forward to the next cruise makes coming home a little more bearable.

Thanks for the fun trippie! :cool1:

Oh my gosh... Melanie... it brought back your voice... and Eric's and Chris is in the background too! I MISS YOU GUYS!!! Oh... and there isn't any thinking to do about "moving the cruise to the '09 date... that WILL happen!! You and Eric need to join us at WDW for the Christmas '08 reunion with Paula, Ethan, Noah and I!! Woooo Hoooo!!!

By the way... I thought I had a good pic of you and Eric with the Wonder in the background but I was too focused on your two!

It was very cool having both ships side by side & I suspect it meant a great deal to both crews which made it extra special. Next time, we will go to Atlantis definetly.

Yeah next cruise will definetly be a double dip so we get two shots at CC. I can't wait to go back........wonder if we will make it to Oct 2009...might have to do a 4 day in between somewhere.

I loved your video with Donald waving from the Wonder, how cool is that! What a bummer to miss Castaway Cay though, I know how much you were looking forward to it.
Leesa I was looking so forward to CC but oh well just makes it more important that there will be a next time & by darn I better have a beautiful :sunny: day!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know Kim.........when I was filming I just wasn't thinking about us all talking I was just trying to capture us pulling away from the Wonder & then when I got home I thought WOW what an added bonus that I have Chris on there.
Yes.......I think 09 DD is a MUST!!!!!!!!!! :grouphug:
I don't know about next Christmas.....maybe if it was earlier in the month. Eric doesn't even want to talk about going that close to the actual holiday. We will see........I would love to see you guys again!!!!!!!!!! & I  WDW all decked out for Christmas.
