So we woke up & guess what? We were docked at a beautiful island.
We were next to a Princess ship & I couldn't help but want to sing "The love boat soon will be making another run............." We were finally going to be able to put our feet on land after a few rocky days at sea.
We headed up to Topsiders & had a nice breakfast while looking at the beautiful hills of St Marteen.
We were taking the Under 2 Flags tour that would take us all around the island on a nice tour bus. We met at Rockin' Bar D at 8:40am & then they took us all off the ship together & led us to the tour bus. Our driver was named Noel (pretty coincidental since the tropical storm/hurricane that was making our life difficult had the same name-but this Noel gave us no trouble). He talked quite abit about how the island had 2 sides the Dutch & French as we made our way over to the French side & told us a bit about the differences in the 2 sides.
We caught a glimpse of the Magic at the first part of the tour.
This was at the photo stop.........beautiful view of the island.
Ellis our tablemate took this one for us...they were on the tour as well.
I was suprised by looking around at the landscape & plants to see lots of cacti. Kind of strange.
We got over to Marigot which is the capital on the french side & had about 40 minutes to walk around & shop.
The market in Marigot....the spices smelled so good as we walked down through the market.
We headed for the public "pee-pee room" as Noel called it before heading out on our first mission which was for a cold drink. I wanted a Ting if they had them. We found a nice little patisserie & they had them. If you have never had a Ting, get one when you can. It is a lovely refreshing citrusy soda that we drank our weight in when we were in Jamaica. I was happy & refreshed as we walked along drinking our Ting. We didn't have alot of time & Eric wanted a cigar so we went to a shop that had cigars, liquour & jewelry--interesting combo. We ended up with a bottle of St Marteen's own guaveberry rum.......yummy. I had been to St Marteen before & remembered how good this was. We also ended up with a few cigars for Christmas gifts & for Eric. Mission accomplished.
We walked around abit more & went over to the nice mall & then it was time to head back to the bus.
We saw these natives as we rode back to port.
The island tour was great & a nice way to see alot of the scenery of the island. Wish we had more time in Marigot, but all in all it was a good tour.
We got back to port & decided not to go to downtown as we are neither one shoppers & that is the primary activity there. We headed back to the ship as we were getting hungry.
I love this one of Goofy.........those Disney crew members are always keeping things spiffed up for us aren't they?
This sign welcomed us back on board.
We headed to Lumiere's for lunch. This was the only sit down table service lunch we ended up having all week. It was good & I liked the chance to explore Lumiere's a bit more when it wasn't as crowded as it is at dinner.
After lunch, we went back to the room & I got together the pirate goodies I had for fish extenders & we delivered those on our way up to the spa.
We went up to the fitness center & both used the treadmills. It was nice being able to look out & see the beautiful scenery while sweating. I had a nice refreshing glass of water with lemon while waiting for Eric to finish up. After working out we went back to the room & rested up some because tonight there was big doin's on the Magic........tonight there be pirates on board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Up next....................ARGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
