Pull down beds in studios

Thinking about renting DVC points for a studio, for the first time. It will be our family of four--me, DH, and two sons, 19 and 21. They won't want to share a bed. When I look at the room layouts of the studios, I see some listed as a "pull-down single" and some listed as "pull-down bunk". Is the single a regular twin size? I know one of them would be okay on that, but not if it's a smaller size.

These are the ones I'm looking at:

Beach Club
Boardwalk
Grand Floridian
Poly
Riviera
Boulder Ridge

Could someone confirm which of these, if any, have a true twin-size bed as a third sleeping space? Thank you!

EDIT:
The only one you need to cross off I think is Beach Club which only has two sleeping surfaces.

All the 3rd sleeping spaces will be a fold down from under the TV typically. From my understanding they are not the biggest fold downs for the 3rd surface.

Looked up Riviera and while its listed as single pulldown its the size of a Twin mattress. I then looked up Boardwalk and its just not as big as a twin (I heard people say its on the smaller size).

There are various sites that have layouts of the rooms so I would look at them.

What you want to look for is rooms that sleep 5 since they will have 3 sleeping surfaces.

Yeah, I have tried looking at some of the sites and layouts. These are the ones that all list a third sleeping surface. My problem is I can't find clear info as to how big that third surface is! I'm just trying to find one that is at least the size of a standard twin bed. Thanks!

I just updated my post as I was looking in to it a little bit and re-read your question.

This may be wrong but I would consider:

Pull down single = Twin Size
Pull down bunk = undersized Twin Size

I would honestly look up each resort individually to be safe. You could also possibly try looking up YouTube videos.

For the ones with the pull down beds, my 5ft 1 inch high schooler slept on it just fine a few years back (she is older now). She isn't a large person so I would consider the size of the person sleeping on it also.

All of them have a pull-down twin size bed. They're all basically the same - helps standardize linens through the resort.

Poly has a queen size murphy and a twin size bed that pulls down. The twin bed is narrower than a standard twin, and has a cute graphic. RIV also has the queen size murphy. The queen murphy beds pull down over the sofa.

The fold down bed in the BR studio is small, it is narrower than a twin and I don't think it is as long as a twin. If your sons are much more than 5'6", it might be too short.

This is where I'm getting confused. I've read in a couple places that not all the pull down singles are the same size. I *think* but I'm not sure that Poly and Riviera actually have a larger single than some of the other resorts. This is what I'm trying to confirm and can't seem to find a definite answer!

RIV and VGF have larger singles. It absolutely ain't Poly.

The fold down bed at BR is the same size as the fold down bed at Port Orleans, Riverside, if you have ever stayed there. And I believe the same size as the one in Caribbean Beach 5th sleeper rooms. I can't say for any of the other DVC rooms, only experience is at BR and it is definitely more for a child than an adult, though it could be done.

The VGF single murphy is the same as all the other single under TV ones put in other than perhaps Riviera. I've slept on it. I know. The one in the Riviera 1BR living area may have been a full twin - at least in the model.

They are all the same other than perhaps Riviera which I've only seen the model of so can't comment.

For BCV, BWV, VGF, PVB and BRV (and VGC too) they are all the same smaller than a twin size murphy beds. I am 5'5" and could sleep on it but stretching left my feet touching the bottom of the cabinet or pillow going off the top. It was comfortable enough to not disrupt my sleep though. My DH at 6' would never be comfortable sleeping on it. Someone of that height might be ok if they sleep like a rock and never move.

So I found that at one time the member website stated the under TV murphy beds were 29" x 67 although I would have estimated the length more like 72-74". In sleeping on them and having a comparison to our camper van bed I'd say the 29" wide is correct. A normal Twin mattress is 38" x 75".

In my experience, all of the pull down beds have seemed to be smaller than a twin. I'm 5'2" and can lay down comfortably on them, but I would think anyone much bigger than me might have an issue.

The official word from Disney is that they are 64”-66” by 30”. As pointed out elsewhere that is smaller than a twin, and even smaller than what the rest of the world calls a single bed (75cm by 190cm, or about 30”x75”). It’s roughly the width of a crib mattress but a foot longer.

All the ”single pull-down beds” have looked/seemed the same to me, but I haven’t actually slept on one. We’ve had kids sleep on them at PVB, BCV, RIV- and I pulled down the one at VGF just to look at the size & design (it’s the same as the others).

We’ve always tried to have the smaller people sleep on them- in the 5’6” range, but one time my mom insisted that she sleep on it- she is a solid 5’8” and slept just fine! But I think it also depends on how much people move. Mom doesn’t move much, so it worked great. My teenage son -who moves more- accidentally 1/2 sit up once and cranked his head in the night… so he‘s not a big fan of them, but he would still rather do that than share with his older brother. 😆🤪 My oldest son is over 6’ and moves a ton- there’s no way he’d be comfortable on it.
