Argh! Will this kid never stop?? Christian has already missed 3 days of school due to vomiting. But he isn't vomiting all day. He's actually pretty frisky in the mornings. Then sometime after lunch he starts going downhill, getting all clingy, laying around. He stops singing and playing and just wants to lay on his bed. And eventually he pukes. :guilty: At least we were able to get a few of his seizure meds in today--he's *going* to have a seizure, he's missed so many. Three days!

I called the neurologist today because i'm worried about the seizure meds. He was actually more concerned about the wreck we had 3 weeks ago. Christian had a head injury at that time and suffered from post-concussion syndrome for about a week. The neuro is concerned that the wreck and the vomiting might be connected. So I took him down to Children's for an emergency CT scan. Haven't heard anything, so it's probably okay. Of course, Christian threw up in the car on the way home.

I am so tired of this. We have washed every twin sheet at least three times. He is just a mobile vomit machine. He's getting just enough liquids to make some urine and drool, so I know he's not too dehydrated. I'm taking the morning off so I can take him to the doctor tomorrow. I know she's going to say it's only a virus. But I have to do something. I've run through my bag of tricks.

I hate vomit...:scared:

TMI:sick::scared: I was going to have a snack. Not now. Thanks for saving me from the calories!!

Since you are seeing the dr. tomorrow, perhaps you can ask if you can give Christian something to stop the vomiting? Back several years ago I was given an i.v. to stop vomiting caused by food poisoning--not sure if they still do this, but it is worth asking about.

:flower3: Sorry 'bout that. Glad to help with your weight loss, though.

Yeah, I"m not sure what she'll do but I'm open to suggestions. It's like his perfectly fine in the mornings, but come 3pm he just runs out of steam and he's not even himself--and this goes on for hours! My poor husband has been taking care of him for the last 2 days while I went to work and he's just exhausted. So I took tomorrow off, partly to give him a break.

Thx for update Minky! More hugs and prayers for you and your baby. Sure hope the dr can offer something to help w/vomiting and pray the CT scan is normal.
Feel better soon Christian XO's!! Hang in there Mom.

I'm so sorry. The only "trick" that I have, when my kids are sick, I still use that ultimate sheet protector we got for the crib. My kids are 6 and 10, so long past the crib, but it has saved many, many sets of sheets and blankets.

Good luck,
Jennifer

I'm sure neither of you would appreciate doing this, but is there some sort of suppository you can have made up with the anti-seizure medications?

If you're into homeopathy or are truly ready to do anything you haven't before and are therefore willing to try it, you could perhaps visit a health food store and read up on what might be good to help him out.

You're checking on the medical stuff already...might take him into a gentle gentle chiro, see if the accident caused a chiropractic problem that can be helped by a DC.

UPDATE--Things are better today. CT scan normal.:thumbsup2 I took Christian to the pediatrician this morning for a general checkup. No ear infection and negative for strep. She did some labs, liver profile, CBC, and drug levels. She thinks he's just got a virus.

I think Christian has a little vertigo, too. He's staggering around and running into walls. A while ago he was walking thru the living room and just pitched over sideways. He perked up a little this morning and flapped around a little. He's vocalizing more, which is a good sign. I gave him some Zofran prophylactically around 1:30, since he has been getting sick around 3pm the last 3 days. It made him a little tired, but he was able to eat a good supper and take all his meds. I'm pretty sure he's going to have a seizure this week, since he missed 2-1/2 days of seizure meds. But I have emergency drugs if I need them.

Samuel*our nurse* is here with him now. We're going out in a bit to see my DD17 in her big dance show. She choreographed parts of it, so I can't wait to see it. She's really a good dancer (and choreographer.) I know that Christian will be in good hands while we're out, so I can put my worries away. I think Christian is going to start feeling better this weekend. :)

AWWWWWW poor kid i myself am actually a BIG vomit HATER!! it makes me cringe i think its actually a phobia! glad to see he's doing better
1 hang in their youguys are in my prayers as well!
:)
