Pudge Controls the Weather-A Disney Dream TR 4/10-4/15(Last Day new 5/26)

We wanted to do mini golf but never got around to it. We tried one evening after the show and before dinner but it wasn't open. Next time :)

Great report! Can't wait to hear more!

:welcome: Thanks for stopping to say hello !!

We wanted to do mini golf but never got around to it. We tried one evening after the show and before dinner but it wasn't open. Next time :)

It was just so cute. We really enjoyed it. You definitely need to do it. Do they have one on the Fantasy ??

Day 3 of the cruise – Part Four

After miniature golf, DH went to go ….. do DH stuff. And DD and played the Mid-Ship detective agency.

DSC02918.jpg

.
There are two crimes you can solve. The crime of the missing paintings or the crime of the kidnapped puppies. This little activity lead you all over the ship. On this day we did the stolen paintings.

DSC02922.jpg

DSC02923.jpg

While we were playing, we saw Goofy.

DSC02924.jpg

DSC02925.jpg

DSC02926.jpg

And then we saw the rest of the gang down in the Atrium

We solved the mystery of the missing paintings and DD wanted to go to her club, so I checked her in and went back to the room.

We got a bunch more FE gifts.

Day 3 of the cruise – Part Five

Back at the room, it was just me and DH, hanging out. DH took photos from the veranda

DSC02950.jpg

I wrote in my journal and watched Tangled while DH read a book and smoked a stinky cigar on the veranda. This night was pirate night so were just waiting around and relaxing.

Here was our invite

PirateandEdgeinvites.jpg

And DS’s invite to the Edge

EdgeinviteFrontandBack.jpg

Lots of people dress up for pirate night, so I made all four of us some t-shirts to wear for fun.

DSC01709.jpg

So DS came back from his club wanting to get his pirate stuff on.

DSC02951.jpg

DSC02953.jpg

Then he took off again to hang with his buddies.

And I guess about that time is when we pulled away from Nassau.

DSC02954.jpg

DSC02955.jpg

DH tried to get some photos of the sunset. He loves sunsets. And rainbows. And birds. Stuff like that.

DSC02956.jpg

DSC02960.jpg

DSC02964.jpg

DSC02965.jpg

DSC02967.jpg

DSC02969.jpg

DSC02972.jpg

Then DH went to go get DD so we could all get ready and go to the Pirate Party. The counselors at DS’s club were taking those kids, so he wanted to hang with them. We said OK.

DSC02974.jpg

DSC02976.jpg

When we got up on deck, we HAD to get the glow-y drinks.

DSC02977.jpg

DSC02978.jpg

You can’t tell from these photos but mine had a bottom that glowed and changed colors and DD’s straw glowed. They were fun.

Hi there! Great to see you! :wave2:

I love reading along...popcorn:it's helping me relive the trip. Doesn't it feel like it was so long ago??? :confused3

I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I wanted...something to do next time. We didn't do mini-golf...something to do next time. DD and I didn't do AquaDuck...something to do next time. We didn't do Mid-Ship Detective Agency...something to do next time. pirate:

We did a Glass Bottom Boat Tour at Castaway Cay...it was affordable (only $35 per Adult, $29 per Kid) so it was fine. But would I do it again? Nope, definitely not. We did the Stingray Encounter on our next Castaway Cay day and I thought it was great. :beach:

Thanks for sharing!!!!!!

I'm subbing! This is such a fantastic TR, I have really enjoyed reading what you have posted so far. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Kim !!! Thanks for stopping by !! I felt like we should have gotten more of the professional photos taken.

You need to do all of those things on your next cruise for sure.

Yes, we loved the Stingray Adventure !! I can't wait to go back !!!:beach:

DSC03002.jpg

They brought us some bread. I loved the basket.

DSC03005.jpg

DSC03006.jpg

The cornbread was sooo good. I had to try hard not to eat too much so I wouldn’t get too full too fast.

This was one of our table mates. She had on a great outfit.

DSC03007.jpg

Here’s a link to the menu.

http://www.*******************/menus_d2011/pirate.htm

DD got the kid’s macaroni.

DSC03021.jpg

She ate all of it, so it must have been good.

For appetizers, I had - Pirate’s Golden Pot Stickers – Oriental pork “dumplings’ deep fried and served with Tamarind – Ginger soy sauce and pickled vegetables.

DSC03008.jpg

These were so tasty. And the sauce they came with was really good. Kinda sweet with a little heat.

DH ordered – Pearls of the Caribbean – Crabmeat, shrimp and salmon mixed in pearls of couscous with lemon grass infused vinaigrette.

DSC03009.jpg

I don’t remember him saying anything bad about it and he ate all of it, so it must have been good.

DD got a hold of the camera and took these.

DSC03011.jpg

DSC03012.jpg

DSC03017.jpg

She completely cracks me up !!!

Sorry I left you hanging with half an update. Here is the rest.

For the next course, I ordered – Mr. Smee’s Bibb Lettuce Salad – with bibb lettuce, baby greens, chicory, tomatoes, toasted pine nuts and raspberry vinaigrette.

DSC03019.jpg

Very fresh and good. Loved it.

DH ordered – Caribbean style conch chowder – with sherry, sweet peppers, onions, tomatoes, thyme and garnished with diced potatoes and crispy bacon bits

DSC03020.jpg

I remember him talking about this and how good it was.

For the main course, I ordered – Jack Sparrow’s barbeque marinated beef short ribs – Rubbed beef Short Ribs with tamarind barbeque sauce served with onion red bliss mashed potatoes and plantain chip.

DSC03022.jpg

These were amazing !! Cut with your fork tender. I really enjoyed them.

DH ordered – Treasure –of-the-seas Grilled Shrimp and Seared Scallops served on strings of pasta and fresh tomato sauce.

DSC03023.jpg

He really enjoyed it. Said it was really good.

For dessert DD had her standard Mickey Bar

DSC03024.jpg

And DH and I both had - Sweet Temptations – a trio of fruit cobbler, floating island and chocolate cake.

DSC03025.jpg

This was a good mix of desserts. Normally, I wouldn’t chose a cobbler over chocolate, but I have to admit the cobbler won this round. Sweet, with and little bit of tangy. Soooo good.

Photos from dinner – Our servers. Warren and Ibriham. Wonderful !!

DSC03026.jpg

DH and I in our pirate gear.

AnimatorsPalate.jpg

And DH, DD and I (DS was at his club)

JerrySusanandHannahatAnimatorsPalate.jpg

A very enjoyable meal. DD wanted to go to some pajama party they were having at her club, so we got her changed into her pajamas and took her over to her club. She said she was a hamster here.

DSC03027.jpg

DH and I went back to our room to grab a drink and saw this.

DSC03028.jpg

DSC03029.jpg

DSC03030.jpg

We loved our stateroom host. He was very quiet and shy , but always smiling and always did a wonderful job. We asked him once where the ice machine was and he told us, but 5 minutes later, he showed up with a fresh bucket himself. We just loved him.

On pirate night, they have fireworks from the boat. Disney is the only cruise line that has their own fireworks and a lot of the time, I understand that the other cruise ships will try to get close in order to enjoy them, too. So we took our drinks up to the adult section above the Cove Café. There was an older couple that let us share a table with them and they were really nice and we had a great quiet conversation with them.

And this was seriously the best spot ever. There weren’t a ton of people around us and we could see perfectly.

DSC03033.jpg

DSC03039.jpg

DSC03040.jpg

DSC03043.jpg

DSC03044.jpg

It was a shorter show than you would have at the parks, about 10-15 minutes, but it was still cool. We caught a glimpse of DS with the group of kids from his club and they had a good spot, too. He looked like he was having fun. DH and I headed back to the room and DH went to go get DD. DD and I watched Dumbo and when DS got back we all watched Emperor’s New Groove until everyone fell asleep.

One last photo of some FE gifts from that day.

DSC03045.jpg

That charm bracelet is COOL. Love it !!

Also, a pillow case that DD made at her pajama party.

DSC03058.jpg

Emperors New Grove...My Families favorite. We also thought the parks should have some of those characters there!!!!! The forgotten Disney movie.

I just LOVE this trip report!!! Thanks for taking us all along for the ride!

:welcome: Thanks so much for reading and taking the time to say hello !!

I just love that movie. It is seriously so funny !! Kronk is absolutely hilarious !! We like Hercules, too.

Day 4 of the cruise – Part One

Friday, April 13, 2012

At Sea Day.

Here is a conversation that we kept having with people on the cruise. People liked to mention that we would be at sea, on Friday the 13th, in the Bermuda Triangle. The other thing that mentioned a good bit was we would be on a cruise ship for the 100th anniversary of the sinking of Titanic. (cue spooky music). Of course you know that nothing happened but it was fun to talk about. And, although we didn’t see it, I understand that there is a black cat that lives at Castaway Cay.

Anyhoodle, we slept in on this day. DH and I got up around 9 AM. The kids didn’t want to get up so we didn’t make them. We just went to have breakfast by ourselves. We went to Cabanas and I didn’t take my camera, but my breakfast was more the same from the previous post about breakfast at Cabanas. Way too many carbs, but yummy anyway. Oh, and the eggs and coffee were still gross.

DSC02742.jpg

We brought some food back for the kids.

Our navigator for the day.

After eating, DS went to his club and DD and went to play the Detective agency again.

DSC02919.jpg

DSC02918.jpg

We saved the puppies this time. Since this was our at sea day, we had to wait some at the stations, but most everyone was a different place in the game than us, so it didn’t spoil it for us. It was fun.

While we were playing, I stopped by the Vista Café and got this.

DSC03047.jpg

Double espresso mocha latte. YUMMY.

After saving the puppies, we did some shopping.

And we bought

Some Christmas Ornaments

DSC03054.jpg

Two t-shirts

DSC03057.jpg

DSC03056.jpg

Some scrapbook stuff

DSC03053.jpg

DSC03051.jpg

A magnet

DSC03052.jpg

And a Pluto towel

DSC03055.jpg

While we were doing all of this, DH had gone down to ask about booking another cruise. He had gone by the DVC place and they gave him a pin.

DSC03059.jpg

When we got back to the room, he was fussing over a computer they had given him to look over the cruises and he was having trouble getting logged in. IT mom to the rescue !! DH is a little technologically challenged. We decided on the 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Fantasy in June of 2013 that we already need to change because DH has a family reunion he wants to go to in June of 2013.

DD wanted to go to her club, so DH took her there and he and I decided to get some lunch and head over the Adult area. So I got a hot dog and DH got a Panini and we shared a Drink of the day – or two.

DSC03060.jpg

We just relaxed and enjoyed our view. This day was very windy and a little cooler, but I enjoyed the weather.

DSC03062.jpg

We headed to the bow of the ship and took some more photos.

DSC03063.jpg

Loving this trip report.

I was totally humming the creepy music when you mentioned Friday the 13th and the Bermuda Triangle. I had an argument with my DD18 about the location of the triangle not too long ago. Turns out I need to bone up on my geography!! :)

Thanks so much for reading.

I don't know for sure if we were actually IN the Bermuda Triangle, but if we weren't, I bet we were close. :rotfl: I need to check my accuracy myself :thumbsup2

Day 4 of the cruise – Part Two

Then we went to check out Palo and Remy.

The Meridian Lounge.

And I wrote in journal while DH watched Sherlock Holmes 2.

About 5:30 PM, they called and said DD wanted to be picked up so I went to get her. DH had forgotten to pack some dark socks, so he bought these.

DSC03075.jpg

They are actually darker than they are in the picture.

DS was still in his club, but the three of us went to see the Villains Tonight which was the show for this night. I don’t have any photos, but it was a fun show and we enjoyed it. Here are a couple of stock photos

villains.jpg

VillainsTonight.jpg

We called DS and told him to meet us back at the room. We had insisted that he have dinner with us on this night. He was a little pouty about it, but we were firm.

Day 4 of the cruise – Part Three

So we all met back at the room and headed to Animator’s Palate.

DSC03048.jpg

DSC03049.jpg

We got some bread.

DSC03076.jpg

DS with our tablemates

DSC03077.jpg

Tablemates – wonderful ladies.

DD and tablemate

DSC03079.jpg

Some restaurant photos

DSC03080.jpg

DSC03081.jpg

DSC03089.jpg

For appetizers DH ordered - Wild Mushroom Risotto and Porcini Twist - served with Parmigiano-Reggiano

DSC03086.jpg

I ordered - Black Truffle Pasta Pursettes - pasta purse filled with truffle scented cheese and coated with a delicate champagne sauce

DSC03087.jpg

These were very good.

DD ordered the kid’s pizza

DSC03088.jpg

She enjoyed it. Said it was good.

For the next course, DH and I both ordered - Baked Potato and Cheddar Cheese Soup with bacon bits and chives

DSC03091.jpg

This was very tasty. We both liked it a lot.

For our entrée, DH ordered - White Shrimp Pennette Pasta tossed with a basil and Reggiano Parmesan cheese sauce and topped with a parmesan cheese wafer

DSC03092.jpg

DS ordered – Marinated Angus Beef Tenderloin carved to order on wasabi mashed potatoes with bok choy and a tamarind-barbecue reduction

DSC03093.jpg

He ate all of the beef portion and the carrots, but I remember him saying the potatoes were “different”. After he was done, he and his buddy next to him were off to the club.

For my entrée I ordered - Grilled Pacific Black Cod with sauteed morel mushrooms on a yellow split pea puree

DSC03094.jpg

It was good. After the heavy appetizer and soup, this was nice and light. Not too heavy. Just right.

For dessert, Dh had - Sweet Temptations - a trio of crunchy walnut cake, pineapple financier, and lemon mousse.

DSC03097.jpg

He really enjoyed this and I liked the lemon mousse. Yummy !!

I ordered - Chocolate Brownie Cheesecake with whipped cream and raspberry coulis

DSC03096.jpg

Yum, yum, yum. Cheesecake and chocolate – you can’t lose.

DD ordered - Dense Chocolate Cake - brownie, caramel sauce and whipped cream

DSC03098.jpg

Fantastic meal. We very much enjoyed this meal and all of the dinners we had on the ship. Such wonderful meals and experiences.
