Puck's Cafe, Portobello, or Fulton's for Pre-La Nouba

Hi All:

I hope all of your are staying cool. In addition to heat and humidity, we in Central NC are blanketed with smoke coming from an Eastern NC wildfire. We put it in perspective, however, considering that being near the smoke is much better than being near the fire.

I was hoping that youall could give me some advice and first-hand experiences to help me decide between DTD restaurants for pre-La Nouba Late Show.

My 3 choices at DTD are:
-Puck's Cafe, which I have heard that it's more like an expensive Applebees,
-Portobello, whose menu doesn't really seem to be in-line with the other signatures
-Fulton's, whose reviews are all over the board, but the menu looks nice.


If we can't settle on one of those, we'll likely do Kona Sushi.

I'd love to hear what ya'll have to say about food quality, service, and ambiance.

We are doing Raglan Road pre La Nouba. I know it wasn't one of your choices, but I have read so many good things about it. Have fun!

Normally I would say Fultons but after our meal there last month we decided the food and portions have gone way down hill

Ate at WPCafe in Nov and it was a wonderful suprise..the food was excellent and nothing like Applebee's (which is as nasty as can be). We sat at the sushi bar and they were cranking out fresh made sushi. Had the nut crusted chicken and it was enough for 2 people to get full on and it was out of this world. I think we had soup and salad too and skipped dessert

Rare that I disagree with Pakey, but not a big fan of Portobello. We ate there last trip--pretty standard Italian.
Were it me, I do Fultons or Raglan Road.

By the way, Ragland wasn't one of the OP's choices so I didn't throw it out there. In that we agree, I'd go to Ragland over Portabello also.

HOB would be nice...But we're springing for the premium plan. I can't see going out of pocket when there's choices in walking distance. We also have one fairly close at Myrtle Beach, which we like a lot.

I really want Fulton's to be good...That was my original choice.
and Raglan Road also looks very nice.

Has anyone tried the osso bucco at Portabello?
