Public high schools selling names of students to military recruiters

It's pretty much just the same as colleges sending stuff to high school students. There's always the "do not call" option.

This came up once before here on the DIS, I don't know if it is in the archives or not as it's been a while.

You might want to do a search. There were lots of good opinions on that old thread.

At the start of each school year we are given a form to fill out, giving us the option of putting our name on a "do not recruit" list. If we don't fill it out, the school is required by law to give names if asked for them. If we do fill it out, we don't have to deal with the military recruiters. It really is like the college recruiting stuff, only in this case, it's optional.
