Public free dining thread: What did you get, how long did you hold..etc

I can't believe I completely FORGOT to get up early! I totally FORGOT about FREE Dining this morning! Am I a moron or what?! Well, to be fair, I am in the middle of a very busy schedule - working overtime b/c we're short-staffed, I have been running non-stop with late night play rehearsals and I'm preparing for the job interview of my life to take place this Friday afternoon - after a hectic work morning.... plus my kids have today off of school so my alarm wasn't set.... yeah. I guess I've got a lot on my mind!

My penalty for not calling until 8:46 a.m. (central time) this a.m. was losing out on getting a Family Suite for my dates. However, I was stuck because we already have airfare booked. So I got,

Sept. 16-24
8 nights, 9 days
2 Adults, 4 kids
7 day Park Hoppers w/Water Park
2 ROOMS (preferred) connecting at AS Music
FREE DINING
$3689

(BTW, Our total savings only came out to about $375 bc I had the suites booked with a pin code - which I can't use with Free Dining - but hey, a savings is a savings!)

Come to find out, my kids are excited about connecting rooms "because that way we can call each other on the phones!"
Still pretty happy! And I can always call and keep checking if the Suites become available.

Wow! What a morning!

It took me almost 2 hours of being on hold to finally talk to an agent, but I got exactly what I wanted.

7 nights at Pop Century, standard room, with free dining, checking in August 24 and out on August 31.

We scored two rooms at Pop Sept 15-20, free dining. Didn't have to go preferred or anything!

This trip is going to be amazing. I scored every ADR we wanted within 20 minutes of when we wanted when I called last week. Then she got our first choice value this morning.

We already had a bb free dining ressie from Aug 31-Sept. 14th. Then my son who is in the Navy called last week to say he'd be getting leave and coming home from Aug 17-30. I called at 10:15- was only on hold 10 minutes and got the nicest CM. We were able to make a separate ressie from Aug 27-31, 4 adults, one infant Pop standard room $768. Decided to add deluxe dining for the four adults just to spoil my son so it came to $1280 for the four night ressie. Woo hoo!---Kathy

Still no word from my TA ------ ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH. I haven't heard from him since 9:15! I'm trying to be patient, and calm, but I'm losing it fast. I honestly don't think he knows what I'm talking about and is just going to wait a few hours and then call me back and tell me it wasn't available.

I called around 8:30 this morning -- was on hold for 47 minutes, and got free dining!

We booked 2 rooms at Pop for 9/20-9/27!!

We had already booked at CSR but switched to POP b/c we saved so much more money! I was so happy we got our dates, b/c I had already made our dining reservations! WOOHOO!!!!

To the person dealing with AAA. My AAA agent told me the exact same thing last year. She basically refused to even check into it. If I were you I would just cancel through AAA and do it yourself. We ended up not doing the free dining anyway deciding December would be a much better time, because of the heat in September, but I was very annoyed when I knew she was wrong and she wouldn't even check.

If you want to go through AAA, try Tammy ext 60268. She got me three rooms with FD this Monday. She seems to be really nice to work with too.

I called and spoke with CM Carmine who was VERY charming...LOL!!! The hold wait was approx. 20 minutes. When Carmine answered he pulled my name right up and said that Tinkerbell left some Pixie Dust on my name...he was too cute!!!

At first, he was only going to do a 24 hour hold due to the Free Dining Promo, but then after placing me on hold he came back and said "this is your lucky day...I can go ahead and place it on a 14 day hold for you".

I have my reservation for EVERYTHING I wanted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He did say that I should make my ADR's ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!

I LIKE CARMINE THE CM!!!!!!!!!!!

My mother is a travel agent, so she had a travel agent number she called first thing this morning, and was still on hold for 1 hour and 40 minutes!

We got:
POP Septmeber 20-26 for myself, hubby and 13 month old daughter
6 day Park Hopper, no waterpark
Free Dining!!!

Total $1014.49!!
We saved over $455!

The normal cost was $1116.32, but she didnt charge us commission, so we saved another hundred bucks.

My sister will be staying at POR, because they said the FQ was not available. I wonder why??

I am so excited though, I dont even know what to do!! We will be there for my 30th birthday!!

Insurance is not refundable once on a reservation that already has a deposit on it

Might have been a problem with the 24th - we were able to get a Suite booked online at 7:05 am this morning from the 25th to the 1st.

How do you book free dining online? Is there a link on the WDW site? If so I am not seeing it. I would like to just price a trip and don't want to bother the cms when it is very unlikely I will go. Thanks.
