There have been some other posts indicating that although Vero Beach does not have any lifeguards at the beach, there is a beach with life guards up aways. Can anybody give me an idea how far away this beach is? Is it within walking distance? 15 or 20 minute walk, or more like 30 to 45? Is it better to drive instead? Is there any place to park? Is there a charge for the beach and/or parking? Is it north or south of Vero?

I have also heard that there is a steep drop off not too far out at Vero. Is it the same at this other beach?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

The beach is literally right next door to the resort (north). You can see the lifeguard station from the steps to the Disney beach area. I'm not sure about drop-offs etc. since I just dip the feet in and walk along the shore. There is also another beach down closer to Vero proper. It's about a 10-15 minute drive. It has a place for snacks, a grill/picnic/playarea and a small boardwalk. I belive it's called Jaycee Park.

There can be strong riptides in the water so it's not a bad idea to go where the lifeguards are if you intend to really do some swimming.

Here are the final steps of the directions to Vero:
Turn left/east on 510 to A-1-A (2.5 miles).

Turn right on A-1-A.

The Resort is immediately on the left.

*If at the intersection 510 and A1A you go straight, you are at the beach.

That is the information I was looking for.
