Disney Princesses- 2014

Their Moms Me & D:

The Plan:

Bring our birthday princesses princess: to MK for BBB & CRT and some Disney fun to celebrate turning 5.

We decided on 9/16 because it's halfway in between the two birthdays. We booked the Little Mermaid room at Art of Animation. It'll be the first time any of us have stayed on property! :cool1:

Tomorrow morning is our 180 so fingers crossed we can book our princess reservations for these big girls....

Roo went to Disney for the first time over the summer

Boo will be at WDW tomorrow for her first time EVER :earsgirl:

I grew up in FL and went to WDW more times than I can count growing up and before I had kids. My first trip as a mom was in July. My kids loved it! DH was glad we were happy and enjoyed the food.

Me & Aurora 2005

D decided while planning her family's trip that we just HAD to get our girls to BBB for their 5th birthdays. :bday:

I thought that sounded awesome! It grew from BBB & a stroll around DTD to a full blown WDW trip complete with the Little Mermaid room at AOA! We really want to pamper our birthday girls and that room is too cute!

So, the cast, the date and the room are locked down! Now for the hard part:  Reservations!

First we thought earliest BBB we could get and then CRT for breakfast and they can be princesses all day.

Then we wondered if we should enjoy the park and do BBB later in the day and lunch or dinner?

Then we wondered if we'd gloss right over nap or if they'd conk out. Heaven forbid they leave their princess makeup and pixie dust on the pillow and arrive to the castle disheveled. It was at this point I realized how complicated this might be.

Any BBB pros want to weigh in on this?

On top of that the my 180 is tomorrow! I've never eaten at CRT (or stayed on property before) so how does the whole "Advanced Payment Required" thing with CRT work when you have deluxe dining?

People are telling me I HAVE to call at 7 instead of booking online?

Also, if we're linked in MDE and I can see the info does it matter whether the package with our dining plan is in D's name? Will I have trouble making the reservation?

TIA

No one answered so I'm gonna give it a go online at 6am (fingers crossed)!

I was told as long as I have the reservation number booking online should work. Since everyone staying earlier in the week we're going has already had a chance to book and waiting to call would potentially put me behind by another hour :hourglass I have to try.

This is truly nerve wracking! :worried:

I keep telling myself "it won't be the end of the world" if we have to re-think things, but really it's their once in a lifetime Birthday trip with their BFF to get princess makeovers & eat in a castle!

Send me your pixie dust Disney fans :tink:

I don't think I've EVER not hit snooze when the alarm went off at 5:00am before :hyper: It went like this:

Buzz! Buzz!
(I opened one eye)
(I fumbled to reach my phone in the dark)
(I managed to quiet it and start to focus my eyes on the time)
(I sat straight up and switched on the lamp)
(I turned off the alarm and set the phone aside)
(As I'm pulling on my shirt) DH: What?!? Oh, is it time?
Yes, it almost time!

Lol, the whole thing reminded me of a woman going into labor on a sitcom. I told my DH last week "If you're up this early it's either the airport, the hospital or Disney." I now amend that list to include Disney Reservations. :coffee:

I'm all logged in and afraid to stray to far from the computer...my date is blue, but not pulling times yet. Any minute now it will magically start working. Breath in, breath out it's ALMOST time. :scared:

I don't know if anyone's following yet, but I won't be able to post what happened until tonight. I have to hopefully make CRT in a few minutes then hop in the car with DD, DCiL & her DD to head to Epcot for Flower & Garden. So, I'll be calling BBB from the road. Fingers Crosed!!

Making Reservations

I was shaking :crazy2: as I started clicking good old F5 at 5:55am. DH sat next to me for moral support/curiosity. I literally felt ill. I had never been in this position before.

As a kid you always just wondered in when you got to the park & they gave you a time to come back. As a parent we scheduled ONE character dining night a few weeks before our trip and that was the ONLY time we ate on property for 3 days.

It had to work out. They had to have dinner in the castle it was the WHOLE point of the trip. We figured out how to guarantee with our dining plan, agreed on time frames, all that was left was to actually book it.

At exactly 7am ONE time populated for dinner at CRT, 4:20pm. I clicked it and first I saw Jiminy Cricket "Give us a Minute", then the dreaded Donald Duck "Our Servers Are Busy". :badpc: OH NO. F5 don't fail me now, I already clicked it and it was the ONLY time.

Those where the longest two seconds of my life. And...it worked! I put in the rest of our info. Reservation confirmed! :tink:

The Reservation on the Road

By 6:05am on 3/20 I had our dinner reservation at CRT. Now it was time to get to Epcot for Flower & Garden. D was going with her family today too. So, I had to make our BBB reservation in the car.

I already had the reservation line saved on my phone. At 6:55 I dialed and hung up at the "we're closed" message. I only had to redial 3-4 times before the most adorable message from the Fairy Godmother told me my hold time would be less than 3min. :thumbsup2

It was a little weird to do it with DD in the car but she was sleeping anyway. Glen answered after a minute or so. He seemed to wake up as he took my information. My enthusiasm becomes infectious, watch out! :cheer2:

He got my girls appts for 2:20pm for their BBB makeovers. I was over the moon! Job done. Now to enjoy the day at Epcot! princess:

We ran into D's family while we were there. Woohoo for running into your BFF at Disney!

These girls are totally worth the stress.

I got Roo a Sofia the First dress (Yay, Disney Store costume sale!) for this trip. Boo will probably wear her Belle gown it's her favorite. I got it a little big so it should be perfect by Sept.

I was worried that my Roo would be bummed that the hair style options at BBB aren't authentic to whatever princess she was wearing so when I found out they had a Sofia hairstyle I decided to get her the dress.

Cute, huh?

She might surprise me and pick a different one, but I wanted to make sure she had the option. I read a review where a little girl wore an Aurora dress and was completely bummed they wouldn't do her hair like Sleeping Beauty and I kept thinking sigh...that'll be my DD too. So now that's covered.

Here's the Sofia dress with shoes:

(It was dress like a character from a book day at school)
But it may not matter at all for the birthday trip because...Disney Magic Happened pixiedust: I got Roo an Elsa dress!

DS restocked and for 1hr 26min they were available and I got one! :cool1:

ElsaDress_zpseca14945.jpg

But now...I wonder how we'll handle BBB because obviously I have to give her the coveted dress for her birthday which is the week before this trip. Maybe by Sept Elsa's braid will be a hairstyle option? Who knows...:confused3

princess:In the meantime, Roo and I are headed to MK in 4 Days with my DSis for a girls day. I'm so excited! We FP Cinderella & Rapunzel, Roo is over the moon! :tinker:

The Frozen girls were all booked when I logged in the first day for off site guests to book, but I've got my fingers crossed for Sept since we'll be at AoA & have an earlier FP window. :wizard:

We found Roo a Rapunzel wig at DTD in March:

She wanted to be Rapunzel for Halloween and we took a little stroll around DTD in btw WDW trips. She insisted on skeleton tights, silly girl.

When we got home she tried on the whole costume:

Super cute princess: She may abandon it to be Elsa instead since I'll be giving her that dress for her birthday. We'll see...I love her as Punzie though :lovestruc

Here's some princess pictures from our 4/30/14 Girls Trip to MK. It was an amazing day even if the weather wasn't the best. :umbrella: There was a lot of Magic pixiedust: We got to visit with Tink, Rosetta, Ariel, Rapunzel, Cinderella and Belle! Not to mention, RR's first ever ride on BTMRR! :lovestruc

First not as exciting, but just as important as of 6/30 balance on the trip is paid in full :cool1::woohoo::cheer2: That's a load off, but more importantly it makes it super official. It's REALLY happening.

Second and way more exciting our FPs! So, you'd think judging from what I told you about my BBB and CRT reservations that I would be on the ball about FP selection. Normally, that assumption would be right...but :confused3:worried: We all drop the ball sometimes.

You see, I had a grown-up's birthday party late Fri night and then Miss BB's little sister celebrated her 3rd birthday early Sat morning (all the while recovering from an illness and the antibiotics )

Here's a cute party shot:

10489763_10152599905084868_1535417404541168153_n.jpg

It was Pokey Little Puppy themed! :dogdance:

Which is why I forgot to set my alarm for 5:30am to grab E&A and Mine Train FPs. I tossed and turned with stomach pain all night and when I woke up at 7am. I remembered as soon as the alarm went off and burst into tears

I HATE when real life gets in the way of Disney plans, don't you?

Needless to say E&A and Mine Train were GONE (probably for several hours at that point). So, I grabbed BTMRR, Pirates and Splash Mountain for now. I will be stalking MDE from now until the trip! :surfweb:

I'm not so worried about E&A anymore since we took the girls to see them at a local event recently:

10375147_10152541109489868_7196128071371599200_n.jpg

It would still be nice to visit them on the birthday trip, but I think we'll survive missing them. I'm SUPER bummed about Mine Train though! I think if we run straight there we might make it.

Either way we are FP booked and balance paid officially giving the girls a royal birthday in less than 2 months!

OMG Guys!

First, No one said anything about my new hair. That's ok, I forgive you. It's a test run for my Anna costume. :)

Second, Why didn't you guys TELL me that FP's open at MIDNIGHT!!!! I realize that maybe I should have done some more research, but somehow I was sure it was the same schedule as dining reservations. SMH. Jeez, no wonder the good stuff was gone! :sad1:

We made a special glittery link for her 5th birthday and 10 days later the last link is glittery and says: Birthday Adventure! She has no idea it's a princess trip to Disney ::MinnieMo

We told the girls on RR's birthday, by letting them open the shirts DH & I made.

She's holding the last link in our Disney countdown chain! We're headed out in a matter of hours!! :drive: AOA here we come. So, this is officially my last pre-trip post. I'll add a link to my trip report to this thread  Thanks for following!
