Well, I thought I better get moving with a PTR since we are just over 2 weeks before we leave for our much needed DLR vacation! :cool1:

This time, it's just my DH (53) and I (44), the kids are (DD) 17 and (DS) 20, and this round, neither has a desire to go, as our next trip is a large gathering, and they want to go for that and save more spending money :) The 17 year old is staying with my parents as to make sure she gets to school on time, and the 20 year old is watching the house, bird and chinchillas for us :scared1: . The dog is going to the doggie spa (DS is in a pre-med program, so best for the dog this way). DS has only ever watched the house for a couple of days when DH and I went away for our anniversary, so this should be interesting.

It has been quite a few years since our last trip to DLR, although we use to go every year, I was in a bad car accident back in June 2005 (our wedding anniversary, a person ran a red light and t-boned me). 4 1/2 years later, 3 surgeries later, months in the hospital and an artificial c-spine implanted, and UGH, I am exhausted. Sitting talking to my mother recently, she commented that I look tired, like I can't take it anymore, and says...."I think you need a Disneyland trip!" She is right, spoke to DH about it, and the planning starts back in February of this year :woohoo:

My big concern was my neck with the rides, but my neurosurgeon said if I am careful and aware, that he knows nothing will keep me off of the rides, then go ahead and do what I'm going to do anyways :lmao:

Now, when I go to DLR, I always get a full day in on the day I arrive and the day I leave, so.....we booked our flight, bought the 6 day hoppers, bus transfers and booked us in at the HoJo (our favorite hotel).

We leave on September 10th, flight leaves at 5:23 am, so we have to be up and out the door for 3 am, the plan for the trip goes as follows:

September 9th - both DH and I are off work that day, we need to get the dog to the kennel early in the day so he can settle in. Wake up at 5 am, so this way we will be tired later and get a very early night. Take the dog to the kennel for 11 am, back to the house for last minute packing, feed the chinchillas and bird so DS doesn't have to worry about it. Pack some sandwiches for the flight, an early dinner, bed by 7 PM. Wake up at 2 am, and gather our stuff (shower for me or I won't survive the long day), wait for pre-booked taxi, and out the door to be at the airport for 3 am. We fly Victoria-Vancouver then Vancouver to LAX. Grab luggage, and should be at the hotel by 10:30 am. We plan on dropping our luggage off at the hotel, a bite to eat at Mimi's, and then a cab to Honda center to check out the Anaheim Duck's team store, buy my necessary items from there :cheer2: , taxi to Target next, not sure which one we are going to, but might check out the Disney Warehouse, and Target all in one stop, then drop stuff off at the hotel, check in if we time it right, then up to Red Lobster for dinner.

Next day is my birthday, so we start our 6 days in the parks, and have dinner planned for the Blue Bayou that night. No other major plans until Monday, just going to stay in the parks and of course take DH to see things he has never seen. Monday morning we have reservations for Goofy's Kitchen breakfast, then back to the park. On Wednesday the 16th, I managed to get Center Ice, pre-season tickets to see the ducks, so we will be leaving the park at around 5PM that day to get to the game on time :woohoo: Being a huge Duck's fan, I can hardly contain myself on this one.

We have to leave for the airport on the 17th, so we will pack up our stuff, be ready to go, and just do some shopping/browsing until around 2 pm, and try not to cry :sad1:

Sounds like you have a great trip planned! My DH and I will be there the same weekend. We are staying at the Carousel this time. I'm getting so so excited for this trip. We are doing a combo very belated honeymoon/first anniversary/my birthday celebration. We have lunch at the Blue Bayou on the 13th (my bday :goodvibes). So far thats all I have planned other than going on every ride possible and watching fireworks and the parades.
