Hello folks!
Me and my mom, both WDW CM's are headed on a disney nerd's dream vacation (around the America's) starting next week! First stop LA for 2 nights, 2 nights at Disneyland Hotel, then *drumroll* a 2 week disney cruise through the Panama Canal!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
However I'm mainly focusing this report on the disneyland part of our stay, as reporting an entire 2 week cruise is just too much to ever write!!

This is both of our's first visit to Disneyland and Los Angeles, however we are DCL vets, been to Disneyland Paris 6 or 7 years ago, and traveled to many countries and across America, just unfortunately never to Disneyland!!

We fly out next tuesday from Orlando, 8:20amEST, and arrive 11:45amPST. Nonstop flight! Not too shabby! Scored some great one way tickets back in the summer for less than $100 each! Hoping all goes well with the flight, but it is Southwest, meaning both bags fly free, thankfully. (although for our long cruise I don't know how I'll even be able to limit it to only 2 bags!!)
Our cruise returns to Galveston, hence the one way tickets on either leg.
For our LA part right now we don't have a hotel booked yet. Waiting for a day off and some free time(most likely this weekend) where my mother and I can sit down and look over options. But whatever it is, it will either be a Hilton or Marriott. We have leftover points to use, so no worries on that end, we're typically very last minute people.
While in LA we have some free tickets to go watch some studio tapings for some TV shows, but mainly we're planning on just relaxing and trying some great food we've seen on the Food Network and maybe seeing some Hollywood sights. Possibly turning wednesday into a short Disney day if we really can't come up with anything better to do!

So, we arrive Tuesday, yes next week Tuesday, plan on doing LA sights Tuesday and Wednesday, then Thursday morning we check into the DLH early in the morning and checkout Saturday morning, as our cruise departs in the afternoon around 4pm.

We managed to score some awesome rates at the DLH, so we are very very excited to be staying onsite and especially having use of our EMH Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The problem seems to be that we're just not able to fit everything we want to do into our visit! We enjoy all the rides, scary rides, kiddie rides, scenic slow rides, shows, the whole sha-bang! SO, after the visit, or while I'm there, expect a very cramped trip report with many many rides! I have hesitated with using ridemax/touring plans and instead have tried to make my own sort of plan based on wait times I have been seeing on apps, prior expert WDW knowledge, and online this week and many many searches on these boards and others.
The only thing that seems to be throwing me off is the Disney Villains night next Friday night. However exciting it might be to some people, the whole Villains night is not so appealing to us, as being WDW locals we've seen and met most of these characters over time and I just don't want it to attract crowds to DL while I'm there! Ha Ha! We booked this trip back in September, expecting it to be slow season where riding rides would be extremely easy, but having this event is making me almost wish I had switched up my disney days with LA days :/ hmmmm. But too late to change that now, must suck it up!!
I will make another post in a bit, perhaps tomorrow, about some touring plan ideas to show what i'm debating about and going back and forth over. Having to plan to visit only 2 parks is making me feel awful for everyone who must plan their WDW vacations and visit 4! Plus some water parks! AHHH!!!

Good news everyone!!!
We have decided to use our hyatt points for a free 2 night stay in Anaheim for Tuesday and Wednesday night, so we will be in Anaheim all 4 nights of our CA leg!
We will be at the Hyatt House, which is on the edge of Cypress, a 15 minute drive or so apparantly, but it's better than being an hour away and will make getting to DLH thursday morning much easier!

We also have arranged a car ride from LAX Tuesday from GoSedan. It was 100$ including a tip. Even though it is only the two of us, we decided to splurge instead of being stuck in a supershuttle van with others and stopping at other hotels. We called and found out the Disneyland Express did not stop at our hotel, and couldn't find many other options besides getting a taxi, which is still costly.

We have rented a car from Tuesday afternoon through Thursday morning. Great rates though Enterprise, 19$ a day, and there is an office 2 miles from our Hotel. Our hotel has a free shuttle that will drop us anywhere in a 5 mile radius and pick us up, so that is convenient, however doesnt get us to dineyland :((((

Tuesday we have decided to check out disneyland in the afternoon and explore the local area, maybe a nice sit down dinner somewhere yummy!?
So I am stoked for a couple extra hours at disneyland. We will definitely be able to enjoy it even more and really get our bearings before a crazy day in the parks Thurs and Fri.

Wednesday we plan on driving north and doing a TV show taping for chelsea Lately, explore Hollywood, and maybe catch a film at El Capitan!

More postings coming later!

Also we have arranged our round transportation from the DLH to the Port of Los Angeles for our cruise through Disney! We will be on a bus Saturday out there, 30$ per person, however should make the whole day a breeze. They take care of our luggage and we will see it again on the ship! We dont know all the details, or what time, but I'm hoping it meets late enough so I can try the canoes around Mark twain Island Saturday! They are only running Saturday after 11am out of all the days from our visit! Ughhhhh
