The When: Over April vacation
The What: A Disney Vacation of course
The Why: Bring Cole and Sophie first real Disney trip and my high school graduation.

Table of Contents
Chapter 1: Overview (This One)
Chapter 2: Meet the cast
Chapter 3: Rough Schedule
Chapter 4: The Cast Favorites
Chapter 5: July Movie Night

The Cast:
Me: Hey I'm Em, I just finish my junior year of high school! I'm a huge Disney fan and I've been their probably 12 times, I'm not sure I never really kept count. I love to read Trip Reports but this is the first time I've ever written one. I'm also a huge photographer and scrapbooker. By the time the trip comes around I will be just over 18 years old!

This is a picture of me from our last trip (April 2011).
DMOM: DMOM is my mom, Mary, but I think we'll call her DMOM. She is a huge Disney fan too. She been down there around 9 times. She like me is a photographer and scrapbooker.

This is a picture of me and DMOM from our last trip at the OKW bus stop
SARA: Sara is my mom's best friend, who has always wanted to go to Disney with us. She's been a couple times here and there but has never stayed on property.
SaraandSophieCimboro.jpg

This is the only picture I could find of Sara on my computer.
COLE: Cole is Sara's son. He will be almost 10 when we go on the trip. He's been to the Magic Kingdom 1 but hasn't been to any of the other parks.
ColeCimboro6.jpg

This is a picture of Cole from Christmas. He's reading the book The Night Before Christmas It was one of the those recordable books that me & DMOM gave both him and Sophie for Christmas.

SOPHIE: Sophie is Sara's daughter. She will 3 by the time of the trip, but right now she's only 2. She's never been to Disney at all so this total first time for her. (I'm really exciting about going with her because she's at the prefect age where the magic is beyond real).

This is Sophie from Christmas. Its my favorite picture of her and I'm pretty sure its the most recent picture I have of her.

Next Entry: rough schedule of trip :surfweb:

Hi, y’all!:) I hope everybody had a good Father’s Day weekend!

So, because our trip is at the beginning of the planning stages we haven’t really made a schedule about what we’ll be doing while were down there. But we have a rough idea of how many days we want to spend in each park. So, I thought I’d share it with some fellow Disney fans (maybe even some who have been with 3 year olds and/or 10 year olds).

So here’s the rough idea:
Magic Kingdom: 2 Days:woohoo:
EPCOT: 2 Days:yay:
Hollywood Studios: 1 Day:happytv:
Animal Kingdom: ½ day:cheer2:

**the final ½ day we’ll be spend in either EPOCT, Magic Kingdom or at the hotel/DTD ***

I would love any suggestion with amount of days in each park.

Hi there! Your PTR is interesting so far, and I can't wait to read more. :thumbsup2
I'm trying to talk my mom into a short April trip since we'll have annual passes then and we MUST get the most use out of them. :lmao:
But anyways, I'm subscribing! :goodvibes

:welcome: Yay! I'm so glad I have a reader! April is such a great time to go down if you lucky enough not to go during peak week. Which luckily I am going at that time.

I'm gonna have new update later today. I'm working on it right now. :surfweb:

As any diser knows the months go by really slowly while waiting for the trip. Especially when you’re going to be going with young children. So SARA, DMOM and I decide that it would be a fun idea to have a Disney Movie night each month.

We started our movie nights last week, with our July Movie Night feature Monster Inc.

Sorry I was a bad Diser and didn’t bring my camera when we went to SARA’s house so I don’t have any picture of the delicious foods we ate. But I can tell you about them, right?

For our main course we had chicken which we called Boo’s Breaded Chicken, which COLE loved, creamed spinach which we called Sully’s Cream Spinach (My favorite food) and Mac & Cheese or Mike’s Wacky Mac & Cheese.

For Dessert we had Mike Cupcakes. Which were vanilla cupcakes with green frosting and an Oreo eye. I really wish I had a picture that I could show you of this.

I’m so excited for Augusts’ Movie Night where we will be showing The Little Mermaid. SOPHIE’S first princess Movie. Exciting!!!

Also as the months come closer we’ll slowly start to get new details that will help get a more definite idea about where we’re staying or what we’ll be doing.

I'm in! Can't wait to hear more!

:welcome: I'm so happy to have you reading!

Your Monsters Inc movie night seems SOOOO fun! The Mike cupcakes sound adorable.

Thanks. SARA took some picture of the cupcakes so maybe I can get some to put up here soon.

I'm going to add a new post sometime this week.:surfweb:

I love your movie night idea! We are only a month away from our trip, but I will have to remember that for the next one! The Mike Cupcakes sound really cute!

For traveling with a 3 year old, I would imagine it is similar to traveling with a 2 year old, which I will be doing in a month! I have a PTR started and will follow up with a TR, so feel free to follow along! Your rough outline sounds pretty good, but you may need a little more time at AK...my DS loves all the shows there and the Safari.

One key thing that I have found going to Disney with DS is to try to take a break every day. We always get to the parks for rope drop, then head back to the hotel for naps and swimming, and go back to the parks for the evening. DS has always done really well following this schedule and we have avoided most meltdowns!

Good luck planning!

Thanks for all the amazing advice! We were planning to take the half day nap/rest. I think were going to end up doing Animal Kingdom on the last day so that we can be flexible about the amount of time we spend there. I think I will read your PTR and your TR when you return. I hope you have fun at Disney.

Sorry it’s taken me a little longer to post the hotel story I promised in my last update. But because it is the summer before my senior year I’ve been doing college research, tours, etc. Now the personal update is done let’s get back to Disney.

So my mom is member of DVC at Wilderness Lodge but it’s not her favorite resort.

I got this picture off of Google because we haven't stay at WL, since our old computer. But I must say this is a beautiful picture.

Her favorite resort is Old Key West and really wants to stay on our vacation.

So, right now, we have a plan to switch from our home resort on the first possible chance.

The other good thing about Old Key West is that the rooms are bigger so with a bigger group we need more room.

Sorry this isn't the best update but I don't want to tell you guys all the good stuff so far before the trip.

Question: So, for all of guys who have done PTR or TR's before I was wondering how you change the title to add the date of the last update?

I hope everyone is having a good summer and staying cool through the heat wave.

Hi! I hope everyone’s August is off to a great start!

This past weekend was a very exciting and Disney relate event for Sophie! We went to see Sophie’s first movie. And we saw The Winnie the Pooh Movie.

037-EmmaJudyandSophieCimboro.jpg

During the first half of the movie she sat very still in her movie seat but about half she went and sit in DMOM’s lap. I think this is a very good sign that she was able to sit still so long, when go she some of the shows. Because they are only about 15-20 minutes.

Me, Sophie & SARA

She loved the movie. I saw her today and she kept telling me, “Em, that was a great Pooh Movie.” She absolutely loved. So, did the rest of us. I loved the story line!

We also saw a promo for the Lion King in real D 3D. I can’t wait to see it!

After the movie we did something really exciting and different for her because we went to Friendly’s for an ice cream dinner. Which she thought was the coolest thing EVER.

We got one of those crowd pleaser which is much like the Kitchen Sink at one of the Disney Resorts. I don’t know which one.

A before picture.

She took it so seriously.

I’m so excited for our trip has it is growing closer and closer. Its only a little over seven months away, I can’t believe it.

Sorry this has taken me so long to update. :happytv: I hope I still have some reader’s out there. It started with a family vacation in New Hampshire and then my dog had to get ear surgery. Anyone who knows me well knows that my dog is REALLY important to me so I was really effected by her being sick. She’s fine now but she had to wear one of those crown things. DM and I called it the queen crown, Disney inspired.

But this post might have some sad news.:confused3

Because of where I live we were effect by Hurricane Irene.

Luckily no one I know was seriously injured but we did lose power for 2 and half days. And my school was cancelled for a whole week!!!

Because of that DMOM and I are worried that they may cancel my April vacation or the week of the trip. And if that happens it means that I can’t go because I can’t miss that much school.

If that happens hopefully we’ll be able to reschedule for the summer but nothing set in stone.

I start my senior year of High school tomorrow and hopefully we’ll find out what tomorrow where there going to add that missing week in.

Glad you're back!

That's great that nobody you know was hurt during the hurricane! Keep us posted on what happens with the trip! And good luck tomorrow!! :thumbsup2
