Consumer Reports has put together a video to show how to stop your out-of-control car that has accelerator problems. this is easpecially important if you have a car recalled or not recalled by Toyota, because. . . well, you won't know till it happens. 
You think you should turn off the ignition? NO! You'll lose the power steering.
There is also a problem if you pump the brakes.
You might also lock up your power brakes and lose them completely.
This video does give some proper tips on what to do.
