PSA: David's Now Offering $13.50/$14.50pp to Sellers

They also raised their rental rate to $17/$18 per point. So, their rates went up $1 and they're splitting it with the owners. I wonder how $18/pt. is going to resonate with renters when the 2020 point reallocation changes affect their plans. Good business decision on David's part to raise their rates now while we're still booking 2019 reservations. It will make 2020 less painful to the renters.

Rental demand apparently is still exceeding the supply of points, especially for the near-park resorts. Agree with Matty B13 - waiting to see what happens with cash rates in 2019 & 2020.

This is going to get interesting...

Long overdue, I think the increase could have been even bigger honestly. Both times I listed AKV points with them they were gone in one day and I'm sure that's not even as popular as the monorail resorts or BWV/BCV. It seems demand far outstrips supply.

Same, I listed Poly points and they pretty much went instantly. I appreciate that they are not gouging renters, but supply & demand says that the market can withstand higher prices.

Yes, I read cash pay increase by 25% by 2021 with the 50th anniversary.

We just used David's for the first time this month. Our OKW points were gone within a day because the demand is so high right now. Kinda wish we had waited just a couple of weeks to get the extra, but this is definitely good to know for the future.

Wonder if this will mean people renting their points by themselves (instead of using a broker) will also go up?

Yeah, we listed some March 2019 UY points and they were gone within a week of listing for stays in October and August of 2019.

When and IF I ever rent points, will do it myself. I have people all the time ask about my Disney points, and tell them I don't have any to rent, as we
use them all the time. IF I was to rent my points, I would ask $19/point. The reason is NO taxes have to be paid, and parking is free. But, all is a
mute point, as I have no points to rent. Rent them yourself... I am sure people have friends that want to go to Disney, and you are giving them a good
deal!! Just my .02..... As for 2020 or 2021, I could see $20-21/point in the future. Hotel rates will go up 3-4% or more.... Again my .02...

Rent them yourself! Stupid to rent them to Davids' website. You will pay taxes or have to claim it as income/rent. And, he doesn't pay what they are worth.. $16-17/point? Nope!! I have people all the time wanting to rent/buy our points...
