PS2 - anyone know where I can get one!?!

I know that it has been left a bit late - but does any one know where I can get a PS2 from for a Christmas Pressie? I have tried all the usual places, I don't really want to resort to Ebay so any suggestions would be greatly welcomed.

i've tried amazon, play.com various searches via aol yahoo price grabber kelkoo and other online shopping areas. and zero luck. your best ebt is to ring a local games store or your local branch of game, pc world, dixons, currys, virgin, hmv, argos, etc etc until you get lucky. when you find one explain you'll be there today/tomorrow give them your name and make them stick it under the counter.

oh try argos too.

Also try your local Blockbuster - my brother just bought one 2 days ago from there, they may have some left. Good luck!

I don;t know if you are aware of the story surrounding these or not

Essentially Sony were shipping a load to the UK and Europe but the Cargo ship got stuck becuase of a 2 week closure to the Seuz Canal. Which means the the shipment is now unlikely to make it to our shores before Christmas.

Sony say that they have taken emergency measures to get some here over the next few weeks by chartering a number of Russian cargo planes. As always these things create a mass panic and people are snapping them up in a hurry, along with the odd mercenary who will be buying them in bulk to flog in e-bay at an extortionate price, (my previous rant on green day tickets covered this topic ). Apparently the stores ARE getting them in but are only selling them in bundles with games and stuff.

I think it will just be a case of trying in the local high street on a regular basis and one day you will eventually get lucky
