PS time coordinating w/ Osborne lights at MGM?

I just read on another board that they usually turn the Osborne lights on around 6 pm. We made our PS at Sci Fi for 6:20 on 12/3. We were trying to avoid the "crowdedness" at the beginning when the lights were first turned on. But now I'm getting worried that we're not going to have enough time to enjoy them after we finish dinner. My questions: Should I change the PS to an earlier time (like around 5:30 or so)? What time are the lights turned off? Thanks!

I would change it to 5:30. If there is an after hours event at the park, they may turn the lights off at closing time, 7:00.

I completely agree with your strategy of avoiding the "crush" when the lights are first lit. Even though people were polite when we went, I think it could be dangerous for small children, plus they might not be able to see, unless someone lifted them up. My ankles got banged by a few strollers, and everyone was trying to be courteous.

I've read many reports that people went after Fantasmic, because the lights are left on, even though the park is closed. Perhaps you could check once you get there, to verify that this will be happening. Your instincts to avoid the crowd are correct.
