We are going to Disney Dec. 10-15, staying at the GF (in a concierge suite). There are nine of us--five adults and four kids aged 10, 7, 4, and 2.

Do we need PS for dinner every night? How far in advance do I make these reservations? Do I call the restaurants individually? Or not bother with PS at all since that is a less busy time of year?

Also, will the concierge service be able to make dinner arrangments for us when we arrive, or will that be too late? Since we have such a big party with lots of kids, I want to make sure we don't have to suffer through long waits for dinner.

Any suggestions would be appreciated--thanks!

I would make a PS for everynight. You can always change it at the last minute if you want. WE were there during that week last year and found it more busy that we had ever thought. Line etc, were not bad but some places we ate were not even taking walk in and the wait for the one that were was sometime an hour or more.
Seating for 9 will be harder anyway. I am not sure at what number you can deal with group dinning. I do know that gratuity is added at seven as that was the number in our group for part of our trip last year.

We did love Christmas at WDW. Have a blast!!

Most of the time the Conciege will contact you before you arrive to make reservations for you. With nine I would definitely do so. If you wish to do it yourself you call 407-wdw-dine for all the Disney restaurants.

Here are some suggestions:
See if you can get a concensus on fave character. The character meals offer a variety of characters depending on location.
Whispering Canyon & Ohana are fun family restaurants.
In the park, Sci Fi, 50s PT, Oktoberfest, LTT
Buffets, Cape May or Boma

I'd book PS ahead of time. We stayed concierge last year and made some PS before we left and decided to wing it for the other days, planning to make our PS with concierge when we arrived. There were several times that we didn't get what we asked for.

I would also suggest making at least one PS each day. With a large group, it may be hard to just walk up and get a table without a long wait. And the kids will probably appreciate not having to wait a long time to eat.

I try to make at least one PS for each day of our trip. If something else comes up that day, I just cancel the PS, but at least I know I do have a PS.

If there are any really popular places that you would want to try, especially character meals, I would definitely make the PS!!!

Good luck!!!

Hey, you have a Concierge reservation, let the lovely concierge services folks take care fo all your PSs for you. Make one a day, just ake them a list of preferred PSs and fax it to the maybe a week beofre the 90 day mark so they can get you all the best stuff. If you want to change some later, the lovely concierge folks can change them for you. This is why you're paying the big bux, so someone else can take care of all the details for you.

Sounds great! Enjoy!
