PS for DTD dining

Can anyone make a PS for DTD restaurants that take them? You don't have to stay on-site for that capability do you? I forget.

Which Downtown Disney restaurants take PSs, and on a Saturday night in early May are we likely to need one? Would any hotel restaurants be fun for the kids? It will be our first night and we'll be hitting the parks in the morning...so we don't want a fancy restaurant, just a fun place that we can all hang out and "get in the mood" for our trip. We are two families meeting up for the first time in years--my BF from college and her two oldest kids and me and my oldest son...the boys haven't seen each other since they were three and four, and now they are seven and eight. Definitely need a great bonding evening.

Finally, how far in advance can I make that ressie? And, what is the number again so I have everything I need in one place?

Disneydining can make the PS for you no matter where you stay 60 days in advance, except for rainforest cafe and maybe ESPN zone . You can call them directly if not. I always make a PS , but I do overplan , but feel more in control if I have reservations too.

I am SOOO with you on that. I was just emailing my friend saying "you know, we should probably pick a place and make a PS just in case..."

She is totally passive and letting me plan the ENTIRE TRIP!! Aren't you all jealous?!?!
