Hello,

I am new to the boards but am finding the information from everyone here to be wonderful!!!

I would like to know how far ahead we should make ps arrangements for character dinners? We have the myw dining package and would like to do a couple of character dinners. Also, there is me, dh and dd (3yrs) who have the dining package...if dd shares with me (which she usually does since she rarely eats a full kid size meal even), would we (dh and I) be able to use her meals for ourselves? I am mainly concerned about the table service meals as she would *never* in a million years eat her own meal. :confused3

Additionally, we are travelling w/dh's extended family (7 adults & 5 kids including us) and at least one other child may not eat a full kids meal.

Could anyone clarify those two questions for me??

I greatly appreciate any assistance offered. :flower:

I would make my PSs 90 days in advance for any character meal especially with a large group. You can always cancel and reschedule as your plans change. There is no penalty for cancelling a PS as long as it isn't a dinner show or a Fantasmic Dinner Package and they will be very clear about that on the phone because these are the only meals they take your credit card information.

You can pay for a kid's meal (cheap) or split your meal with your DD and not buy a kid's meal. In either case you can then use these extra meals later. I am sure this isn't the intent of the Dining Plan and you'll have to explain it carefully to your waiter/waitress, but it seems like a lot of people are doing this.

Good Luck!

In thinking it over, I don't think it will really be an issue. I'm sure by October Disney will have figured out that people are using kids meals and doing the "meal share" route with little ones.

Besides, dd is old enough where she will want her own meal like the big kids in our group...how could I deny her that just to bank the meals!?!

Thanks for your input though I really do appreciate input.

I wouldn't hesitate about banking your meals. The old Silver Plan worked the same way and they never changed it. I don't think Disney is worried about it. I have one son who is 11 (charged like an adult for dining plan, but still a child for buffets) and another son 8. We are planning on using the dining plan however they will let us. If on a meal I decide to pay the kid's price for my boys and only use the dining plan for myself, I'll have two extra meals to use another day. If they'll allow it, I'll do it.
