Hi there!
We plan on doing different meals at a few resorts. How close together are the resorts to each other and to the main attraction areas? I don't want to spend 45 minutes driving around looking for each one. Are they easy to find?Thank you!

The resorts are very close to each other. Unless you get lost, you should be able to drive from one resort to any other on WDW in 10 to 15 minutes max.

Some of the resorts are close to each other in groups, such as the Epcot resorts or the Monrail resorts/MK resorts.
POR/POFQ that sort of thing, but the distance between these groups is a fair way. If you were doing it by bus it would take a while because there are no direct resort to resort busses. Even by car it takes a while to drive around to the various places.

if you are at the MK or Epcot and have reservations at one of the MK resorts - the monrail is faster than you driving.

yes even changing monrails to the MK resorts.

I just plan to be at one of the parks before each ADR. Then instead of getting on Disney transportation back to which ever value I happen to be staying at, I get on the bus/boat/monorail to go to the resort where my ADR is! I'm one of these that does not drive at all while I am at disney. Getting lost or turned around would just tick me off and put a damper on my Disney day!!!

This is a very open ended question, as there are a number of resorts and you don't state which ones you are going to or where you are coming from. It would be much easier for us to help you if you could be more specific.

If you are going to a monorail resort from MK, it would actually be faster to take the monorail than to drive, as you'd have to get out to your car, and hopping on the monorail is much faster, not to mention the limits on parking at those resorts being a hassle.
The same is true for the Epcot resorts. It would actually take you longer to get your car and drive to BC/YC/ BWK/Swan/Dolphin than it would to walk to them from Epcot (and it is aruable that it is also easier to get to them via boat or walking than driving from MGM studios).

Conversely, if you are trying to go directly from a moderate or value resort and back again, it is usually faster to drive. Driving around WDW is well marked, but it can still be relatively easy to make a wrong turn. With WDW transportation it's very unlikely that the bus driver/boat operator will make a wrong turn. It would also be easier to drive to AKL from any park, even AK.
You do NOT have to be staying on WDW property to use WDW transportation.
