Proud Papa Moment - Wonderful news about both of my children

Congratulations!!!!! I hope they know how proud you are. :cool1:

Much congratulations, John!!!

Is this a 6 year BS/MD program for James? I know that this is a very tough program to get into, and there are not many schools that offer this of combination degrees. I admire his foresight and dedication in knowing what he wants for his life. I see so many kids who drift through college, not knowing what they are doing. By the way, if he decides to stay in state for residency, both my sister and brother-in-law are on the faculty at OSU Medical School.

And of course, being from IOWA, we are very familiar with Meredith Willson's Music Man. Although we are Iowa Stubborn, you know, you really ought to give Iowa a try.
And one of my favorite parts of the show is Eulalie McKechnie Shinn's Grecian Urns . . .

Oh that is wonderful!!!!!

Congratulations James!! :cheer2:

Congratulations Sarah!! :cheer2:

Good for you mom and dad for raising 2 wonderful children.

Debbie

Wow, you've got lots of reasons to be proud. :)

John, I can hardly believe James is graduating...Where does the time go????
Congratulations on both James and Sarah's achievements! :goodvibes

Yes, as a matter of fact this is a 6 year BS/MD program (although some students opt of an extra year of undergraduate study). They only accept 105 students per year into the program and we are thrilled beyond words that James was accepted during the early admission process. His orientation for college is June 24, 2006. If we are going to fit in one last family vacation to WDW, June 2006 is going to be a very busy month. The plan is for James to complete his undergraduate work in 27 months with NO summers off. He is more than willing to give up his summers in order to get his degree sooner.

Wow! Great Christmas presents for a great Mom & Dad! :sunny:
so glad you went to WDW this December, now we have a smiling face to put with this good news!

Best Wishes!
Jean, Christopher & Patrick

John, what fantastic news for your family! Tell both your children congratulations and jobs well done (super well done, actually)! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Just got a phone call from my DS James telling me that he has been accepted into the BS/MD program at NEOUCOM (Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine) and that he will start his undergraduate studies at Kent State University a couple of weeks after graduation from high school. This is great news and DW Sue and I are breathing a sigh of relief. He applied for early action and was accepted after the first round of interviews.

Last week James completed his Eagle Scout board of review and is now officially an Eagle Scout as well.

And not to be outdone, DD Sarah auditioned for a role in this year's production of The Music Man. She tried out for the role of the mayor's wife, Eulalie Mackechnie Shinn. And she got it!!! That will be two years in a row that she has had a lead role in the play. Not bad for a high school sophomore. Sarah also finishes up her driver's education classroom work tonight. She is well on her way to getting her driver's license.

And my wife and kids insisted that I go to WDW this past week to visit with friends. It could not be a more wonderful December for me. I guess that Christmas came early this year. Actually, I KNOW that it did.

I just wanted to share all of my good news with my DIS CB friends.
OH, MY GOODNESS! YOU ARE HAVING A WONDERFUL TIME! A great December and a warm, wonderful way to start the New Year!

Fantastic news for both James and Sarah! You have two really great kids, John! :goodvibes :cool1:

Great news about your kids John. You and Sue should be so proud of them. Looks like they are off to bright futures. A little OT, but my 2 ds were the ones you met in the elevator at the Swan. :sunny:

Congratulations on all the good news about your children :cheer2:
In a day where we hear about so much negativity when it comes to what people are doing wrong it's so good to hear about what people are doing right.
Thanks for sharing this - you must be so proud!!!! :flower:

Congratulations, that is great news. I just wanted to say that it was very nice meeting you on the bus last week.

I think that we actually met on the bus. And there were a bunch of DISers on that bus giving them a hard time about talking to strangers. :goodvibes

Thanks for clearing up the mystery.
