Pros and Cons of buying a vero beach resort?

DVC Jen, consider them crossed! I would love for it to be "Welcome home" for all of us!

Is this your first DVC contract/purchase? It is our second. We already own at VWL and love it there.

That is so strange - it is our first DVC purchase, but we're already talking about adding on at VWL! :thumbsup2

We love love love VWL. We bought back in 2001 during our first WL stay. Fell in love with the resort and the only regret we have ever had was not buying more points when they were that cheap.

I own at VB and just want to add to this discussion a little food for thought. While maintenance fees are higher when I did the math for other resorts it was 18 years before the money I saved buying VB would be eaten up by paying more for maintenance. I bought less then 2 years ago at $43 a point and now they are selling for btw 55 and 65. As new resorts are built the value of VB goes up faster then any other resort. SS has been selling for btw 75 and 80 for nearly 2 years now. When not using my points I rent them out, using TS store I make just a bit more then the cost of maintenance fees ($8 per point) I could get more if I wanted to do it myself ($10 to $12 per point). All in all I consider VB to be a pretty good deal, can get a couple of thousand more then I paid right now if I wanted and as prices keep going up its worth even more.

I totally agree! And if you want to go to VB in the summer, you'd better own to get exactly what you want. VB was our 4th DVC purchase, and in 4 weeks, we're making our first trip there. Can't wait! I hope it's everything I think it will be.

We love family vacations at a Beach Cottage at VB, or OVIRs when we do not have guests. We own there ... Best wishes to you, whatever you decide!
