hey guys, me and my gf are going to WDW again this september and I wanna propose to her there!!!! I was wondering if anyone knew if I called WDW if they could make it extra special for her??? like maybe setting up something for her that she dont know of???

I don't know for sure, but I'm sure they will do all they can. There are probably fees involved based on how far you want to go.

Two things off the top of my head....

I think I remember seeing some type of special on a travel channel where someone proposed and Disney set it up at Cinderella's castle with a glass slipper...it was very nice.

Also, at Coral Reef in EPCOT you can request a table tankside and have a diver hold up a placard with your message.

I would purchase a glass slipper on Main Street, having it engraved and place the engagement ring inside the glass slipper. Make ressies for dinner at the Castle around the time of the fireworks. Ask the waiter/waitress to deliver the glass slipper with the engagement ring under a covered dish when bringing out desserts.

Subscribing as I'd like to ask my wife of 31 years to remarry me. The first time I proposed was on the telephone as we were separated by quite a distance and I was in the service. 31 years and 5 kids later.....I love her more than ever. We're both very much into Disney too. We'll be there in June and I would like any more ideas to pop the question again, the right way! I really want to surprise her and it doesn't have to be private either....lol.

www.giftsofalifetime.com can help you with your proposal. They do lots of great things in the parks for a fee. They are much more reasonable that Disney.

one more idea...disneyshopping.com sells a bride and groom Mickey and Minnie with a frame that can be engraved. You can engrave "will you marry me", the frame can hold a picture from the trip or you can make a card to say will you marry me and place it in the frame then engrave whatever you want, names and date? Have it delivered to your house to bring with or sent to hotel...place on bed or table or hide until after you've popped the question and it can be extra momento.

I remember watching that show when I was little...I never saw that episode before!! That's so romantic!

I know Disney does alot of packages/options when it comes to proposal, and I've heard they're willing to work with you depending on what you want/have in mind! Calling WDW DINE to arrange reservations is very important, you'll want to book 180 days in advance at least...When you call, let them know you're looking to propose, and they can give you numbers and suggestions on the best way to handle it. I don't know about calling for anything special...but my fiance proposed to me in France at Epcot becuase I love anything Paris or France related. My future brother-in-law was going to see about getting some characters involved, but I love the way my fiance did it.

Also, during my first trip to Disney in 05, my fiance and I were in line waiting to meet Mickey in Toon Town and we were almost to the front when a castmember let us know that someone just proposed with Mickey there and so they were giving them some extra time. I thought that was sweet as well. So, even if you are unable to get/afford something, this may be an option as well.

I know what I saw wasn't on Family Matters, because and no offense here the people featured were white. Maybe it could have been another show, but I'm pretty sure it was some type of travel show or it could have been some type of reality show about proposals and weddings, it was several years ago.

I proposed to my wife on a surprise trip to WDW. I arranged for a dozen roses to be in the room (GF) prior to check-in, and on the card it said "Will you marry me?". I asked the big Q as she was reading the card. It worked out quite well. Having privacy at that moment was definitely the way to go for my wife. She's not a highly emotional person, but she cried. I don't think it would have had the same impact in public frankly, but YMMV. I had champagne delivered after check-in as well - they will not set up alcohol prior to arrival. THey included some treats with the set up as well. Then we had dinner that evening at Victoria and Alberts (also an amazing place to pop the question, but she may suspect something if you go there before proposing). The CMs at the GF and at WDW reservations were great in helping to plan things. All in all a pretty good surprise for her - even the trip was a surprise; she thought we were driving home for a long weekend. . .

I agree that proposing during "Wishes" would be awesome. Or, have you thought about the California Grill while watching "Wishes?"

my parents used the formentioned gifts of a lifetime, which i would highly recommend, to do a vow renewal. i'm not sure about pricing, but they had a whole scavenger hunt set up for my mom, which ended on the polynesian beach, where she had to dig up a treasure chest containing her engagement ring. They then had a picnic on the beach. The people are really nice and will customize anything you want.
