Proposal issue - beach?

Hi all,

I've had plans to propose on the Polynesian beach to my girlfriend for almost a year now. Our trip is coming up in August. Now with the gator incident, I am hearing beaches are closed. What does this mean? Are cast members not allowing anyone even on the sand? I would still like to propose to her on the beach. Not the main poly beach, but the smaller one walking towards the Grand Floridian that is in front of Aeotearoa. We would obviously not get in the water, just stand on the sand while watching Wishes.

ETA- Are there any nice benches or sitting areas outside at the poly that you can see wishes from? Any ideas for an alternative?

Yes, beaches are closed. This means you stay off them.

You may need to change your plans depending on how long the beaches are closed.

FWIW, it probably would be a bit of a sad overlay to the proposal, to go ahead and find a beach for it. Maybe come up with something different?

Why not by the castle? I have heard of people even getting photopss for it. If you do a search of the dis I am sure a lot of ideas will come up.

There ae some lovely areas in the MK for a proposal. You can get the Castle as a backdrop. Also, in Epcot there ae gorgeous spots that would provide a backdrop for a proposal. I would choose any of them before a beach at a resort, and that has nothing to do with the accident.

The beaches may be open by then but I would still come up with a Plan B just in case.

If you could time it right, you could use the ferry between MK and TTC during the fireworks. You do not have to have a ticket to MK to ride the ferry. I would think that time of night the ferry going towards MK would be less crowded, especially if the fireworks are at close.

What about proposing in one of the little gazebos around the Grand Floridian? Of course, it might be hard to time it when no one else is inside. I think they might even be used for some wedding ceremonies.

FWIW, rumor suggests that the beaches will be open daylight hours only.

Hmmm. You could do it in front of the castle with a PPO BOG ressie. No one else around. You could do it on the Boardwalk.
