Project Runway, season 6, official discussion thread.

Outrageous!!!!

Based on last night's dresses-Althea should have been the one sent home

They were using the "body of work" of the designers, more than just last nights dresses, IMO

I was not fond of any of the desogners this season. If I had to choose tow for Fashion week I would have chosen Irina and Carol Hannah. Althea's work was hit or miss and Christopher really needs more instruction so that he can take those ideas he has and execute them. I do not think he would be able to build an entire collection yet. Geordana was also hit or miss this season.

I feel that the judges were not in unison this season. In the past the feedback was generally consistent but this year it was all over the place. There was no way the designers could improve from week to week.

That's because there was no consistency in judging except that Heidi was there each week.

So, I was wrong, they didn't do a good job using inspiration from where Michael Kors has been... and they didn't do a good job using inspiration from where they have been. I guess I'd have to say they were uninspired. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I hope the show is better back in NYC. I didn't even watch Thursday night's show until this morning. I had other things on the DVR that I wanted to watch first.

Yea well I just watched Models on the Runway instead of the Project Runway. How bad is that?:lmao:

In all fairness for some reason PR did not tape that evening. (probably had to much taping and someone dumped me:upsidedow)

I have since taped the episode but have not watched it yet.

That is just testament to how bad this season is.

Jeez I was just saying to my hubby at the end of Project Runway that the judging was terrible this year because Michael and Nina were hardly there. So how do they know, except Heidi, one challenge to the next. I usually love this show but they just don't have the flair or personality. So sad whenthe most "controversial" for lack of a better word is just plain mean.
Also just got dvr and while it seems obvious now, I hadn't thought about pausing to examine the clothes more closely as this was always my big complaint.

Nobody had any wow. Even to other seasons if you didn't like something you still understood why they did what they did.

At least they explained things better in this last episode to why something wasn't working, like for christopher they said he was lacking the knowledge of what fabrics to use, which was like that is it. There was always a reason his thing were just sometimes just ok. Or his vision just wouldn't work.

I guess it goes to show that these type of show need that big ego in some of it's players.

I have to agree that the judging this season was all over the place with so many guest judges, many whom I feel shouldn't have qualified to be a judge. I feel Ra'mon was sent home way too early. This season was very blah. For once I'm not really excited about the finale. Nothing this season has just left me wowed!

Finale Part 1....

Poor Carol Hannah. Not the time to be sick. However it looks like from the previews she makes it thru.:thumbsup2

As far as the designs. Well I hope that I am impressed because so far I was not even interested in ANY of their concepts.

Had to laugh when Tim called Irina to say she had to change her designs due to trademark infringment....duh. Irina is something else. Although her collection will probably win. It seemed very together to me.

Carol Hannah and fairies? Seemed odd, but I am still holding out hope.

I forget what Althea's concept was. Not a good sign for her. Oh yea, I remembered, it is Sci-Fi? I hope her clothes match her concept.

Should be interesting...

I don't understand Irina. Her collection is allegedly inspired by Coney Island. Coney Island is (or at least was) an amusement park! Rides and games and neon and cotton candy and Nathan's hot dogs. Barkers and attractions. Not to mention the beach and the sky and the Atlantic ocean. Where all the ethnicities who lived in NYC but couldn't afford vacations would go on day trips. It was all color and light and noise. And from this she's inspired to do a collection all in BLACK????? :scared1: Am I missing something here??

I, too, feel for Carol Hannah. I hope her collection comes together.

Not sure I understand why Althea decided to go for sci-fi movies. After all, that was the challenge and genre that sent Ra'mon home. I'd be worried that the inspiration would lead to some "been there, done that" comments.

Is it not still a trademark infringement if you use part of someone else's design? Irina decided that she would just use the birds??? Still someone else's design.

I'm hoping that Carol Hannah will win. Out of the 3 left, I find her to be the most likable. Plus, I like her model best, too.

Did Michael Kors have a facelift or something done to his face?:confused3 His face was puffy and a little bruised on its right side in Wednesday's show. I noticed it when he and Nina met with the designers. Did anyone else notice?:confused3

I think Irina's designs were inspired by NYC as a whole, and she focused on CI because she grew up near it? I was half paying attention to what she was saying so I could be totally wrong.

I like a few of Carol Hannah's pieces but she just keeps doing another version of an evening or dressy dress. I hope she has other type of pieces like Irina and Althea do.

Speaking of Althea, Sci-Fi inspiration could go horribly wrong, I sure hope that isn't the case for her.

I believe the birds were her own design. The rest of the shirt(s) were copied. She should have been smart enought to know that you don't copy someone else's design.

YES!!! OMG, I am glad I wasn't the only one who picked up on that. I brushed it off but now you said something, I guess I am not crazy.

botox maybe?

I don't know. Would Botox make the whole face puffy and cause bruising in the cheek? :confused3

I suppose if one were to have a bad reaction. I know when I was considering Restalyn there was always the possibility of swelling and bruising.

Thanks. That makes more sense than her trying to pretend that the design wasn't stolen.

I laugh when I hear them say Carol (Hannah). They do not pronounce Hannah the same way we do down in the south. Carol Hannah's family pronounced it the way I'm used to hearing it. I guess she just gave up trying to correct everyone.:lmao:
