My dd has to turn in a project on a habitat that we are to make in a shoe box. Dd picked Pond. I have some ideas for her. Weare supposed to work on it together but the parent is not to do all the work. Dd is very creative and good at art so I will see that she does most of the building of it. I am mainly coming up with some of the ideas. Anyway......Weare thinking of doing the life cycle of a frog but I would like to make it so there is a sort of glimpse into the side of the pond...sort of a cut away view. What would be something good to make the "water " out of where it can be seen through yet firm enough to hold plants up and so that the "tadpoles.etc" will stay under the "water"? I was thinking something like Jello but don't want it to melt. Is there a recipe for homemade jello or jello type stuff that we could make??
Any other ideas on how to make the habitat??? We are planning on using modeling clay, construction paper or the foam sheets. Also maybe using pipe cleaners or skewers to use for the plant stability. Any other ideas????
