Prof. Family Portraits

Doesn't Disney have a professional photography service where you can schedule a private photo shoot for family portraits on Disney grounds???? Anybody have info on this? Cost? Anybody want to share sample portraits that they've had done???

I believe that they do...in fact I believe a DISer has done this. You might want to do a search for Southern4Sure. I believe the picture in her signature is from Disney Photography.

I think the photography service was available through the bridal planning dept. If you contact them, they may be able to help you. I looked into it, but thought it was too costly.

I came across this website the other day that does 90-minute photo sessions in the parks - it sounds like they basically follow you around and take pictures of you as you enjoy WDW. Prices begin at $225. I haven't tried it or contacted them, so no idea if it is worth it. The website doesn't say if you get a CD, or if they develop the photos, or what. They won't let me post urls yet, but google Presentations: Gifts of a Lifetime and you should find it, then look under "Catching the Magic: The Photo Event"

Hmmm.....thanks for the referral. I don't think that is the same company that used to do it a while back.....the photos just don't look like they are the same quality. I'll have to keep searching.....

To be honest, your best bet would be to contact Disney (email is usually best). I have some prices for wedding packages (anywhere from $300 - $800) but they are a year old and the prices have changed.

Thanks! I emailed them....I just figured that I wouldn't get any info back till Monday. I would have guessed that they would have charged you more than that for wedding photos!

Well...those are "over and above" what is included in the wedding packages, and most packages don't really include proofs or even ALL copies of the photos. Most Disney brides feel that DPS is a bit expensive and many choose to use an outside photographer (Randy Chapman is highly recommended).

I'm not sure how other photographers do it, but Disney tells brides that ONLY DPS photographers are able to take photographs in Disney parks. Don't know how all that works (I have some guesses)...but that's what I've always heard.
