Procedures for End of CP at Walt Disney World

My daughter is currently on the CP at WDW. Her internship is scheduled to end on 1/4/13. Can anyone tell me what the procedure is for moving out, shipping items home etc.? My daughter said that she heard that UPS is on site for kids who want to ship things home. I would appreciate any information from anyone who has done the CP. Thanks!!

She will have her last day of work be two days before she is supposed to leave. The day before she can spend with her friends as her 'last day' and she leaves the morning of 1/4. I spent my last day doing all four parks and ending with Wishes... one of the most emotional nights of my life, in a good way.

UPS will be on site (at the apartments) to provide shipping back home. There will be signs posted everywhere as to these locations, so she'll find them pretty easily and it's just a matter of getting there with her stuff that she wants to ship.

My son is extending and his original departure date was 1/4/13. He has now been given a moving date of 1/5/13(he will continue to stay in CP housing). Will he have off 1/3/13 and 1/4/13 or 1/4/13 and 1/5/13? Thanks

1/5 is the only guaranteed day off. If he gets the others, it would be by luck.

That policy changed about 6 months ago - CPs can now be scheduled to work up to their departure date.

While this is true, I think the leaders who do the scheduling try to accommodate the CPs and they understand the last few days are stressful enough without having to work. At least that's what the leader in charge of scheduling told me about our area. But by looking at the calendar the schedule should already be out for Jan 4th.

Thanks for all of the information. Does Disney offer any transportation to the airport for the CP's? Will UPS have boxes and other packing materials available for shipping?

No transportation from Disney, but everyone I know suggests the Super Shuttle. I drove down and back so getting to the airport was never an issue for me, but I have many friends who used the shuttle and it was (I believe) $22.

There should be an information board by her housing complex's main office that says which day UPS will be there. They set up a mini-shop. But the UPS Store is also within walking distance of Chatham Square/Patterson Court, if she's just going to pick up materials.

UPS is onsite at the apartments on move out day. They have have boxes and tape for purchase. You can drop all of your boxes right there at the UPS location at the apartments and they will ship them. It worked really well when we moved my daughter back home when her program ended in August.

There is a FedEx here in Celebration that offers CP move out assistance. They even come help you pack!

I shipped my stuff FedEx because it was cheaper. I had a car, so I could go to the store. But I would NOT recommend it. When the box got to my parents house it looked like it had be drug behind the truck all the way from FL to PA. It was ripped and taped all around and in terrible condition. Luckily it was only clothing so nothing was broken or damaged.

My daughters last day is 1/4 as well. Tomorrow is her last scheduled work day. She did two sessions and is not happy to be coming back home as she really loves it at WDW. I told her to go seasonal, finish this semester of school (which will be finishing her AS), and transfer to the University up there and go back to WDW. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!
