Problems with progressive lenses

I started wearing progressives last year. I got them at the optometrist's practice. I had no problems adjusting to them but this year my reading vision got worse. I had my new lenses done at an optical store and have nothing but problems. The first pair had lots of distortions. If I moved my head, my vision got blurry.So the optical place called my Dr who gave the Rx and got the name of the type of lens they gave me last year. I picked up the new glasses today and they are worse. I think they screwed up the RX in the left eye. But again if I move my head, the vision distorts. So I put my old glasses on, moved my head and no distortion. I don't know what to do next? The reason I chose the optical store was to save a little $$. Any advice- go back to the store? Go to my eye Dr?

Go back to the store and insist they redo the lenses. If your old lenses have no distortion, the problem is with the new lenses.

I just recently posted about this. Can you see if your are just looking straight ahead without moving?

I discovered these hexagon symbols on my progressives -- they are imprinted right onto the lenses. On the outer parts of the lens on each side, and right next to the nose piece on each lens, there's a hexagon with the number 125 underneath. When I move my head, it blurs and even causes things to wave and distort.

I'd called the optometrist's office and they said it's standard for progressive lenses.

I'll try to find that thread for you. Quite a few of us found those symbols on our lenses!

I'd take the glasses to you doctor to make sure they are the prescription he or she gave you.
DW had an issue with her last progressives, made by her eye doctors optical people. They literally made her sick to her stomach the minute she put them on. Optician was nice, but clearly didn't believe there was a problem. Their procedure was to make another appointment with the Doctor and have them checked. She had to come back the next day. Took the doctor about 10 seconds to discover the optician did not order the lenses with the prisim as written in the prescription. Took the Doctor about 30 seconds to walk out to the optician and tell him he screwed up the prescription...the look on the opticians face was priceless.
