Problems with "gate crashers" at HHI

I hate to bump up this thread-- but I had a question regarding the same thing. My parents and I, were staying at another hotel on HHI. I really wanted to get a hat or a shirt from the gift shop that was Disney-like and had something that said HHI on it, so we walked over and went to the giftshop. Afterwards, we promptly left. I hope this wasnt something we werent supposed to do-- we just wanted to buy a shirt or hat. :)

I don't have a problem with that, I think that is ok, but to use the pool/towels/chaise/tables- Now THAT is a whole different thing!

Ok, here is a quick question. Could a DVC member who was not staying at the resort use the facilities? My parents live an hour away in Savannah, GA. Often times when we are visiting them, we head up to HH for the day. My parents and I are both DVC members. Could we use the pool while we were up there for the day? Or is that considered trespassing since we are not "staying" there? It is just "pool hopping". ;)
We have visited the resort twice just to check it out while we were staying with my in-laws in HH. Both times we asked if we could see the beach house/facilities and were told we could not unless we were actually staying at the resort.
