Has anyone gone through the Probate process in Florida for their DVC? My mom passed away suddenly and she was the only 1 on the deed. I have done Probate in my home state, but now for the DVC I need to do it in Florida too. Any suggestions on choosing a lawyer? Anything I should be aware of, or not be surprised by? How long did the whole process take? Any info would be helpful. I am hoping to find a lawyer to start the FL Probate process on Monday.

TIA!

Amy

COndolences to you, losing a parent is always rough. I haven't done it. My mom passed 8 years ago, we're both on the deed, so I can still use it, but if I want her name off and a friends name put on, I need to do probate in Florida. I have 4 contracts. Anyone's experience would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear about your mom. There was a thread about a similar issue some time ago the suggestion was to contact LT Transfers. I have never used them. I know nothing about them but perhaps its worth a phone call.

JacLynne,
Sending condolences on the loss of your mother. The Timeshare Store, Inc. has always referred to Wade Johnson, wadejohnsonpa@aol.com, for all probate needs. He has always done a great job for our clients and has received wonderful reviews. If you have any additional questions, you can feel free to contact The Timeshare Store, Inc. at sales@dvcstore.com or you can send me a message through Disboards. Best of luck.

Good evening, I realize this thread is a few months old, however I am in the same situation. My Father just passed and I need to get the ownership transferred to me. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
