With the opening of WWOHP I am assuming that there isn't much possibility of any ticket discounts for this year? I know in the past few years when I have looked they had some pretty good deals for buying a ticket that lasted all week or was good for both parks at a reduced rate. Not seeing that now! Except for the pre purchase $10 off.

We were really thinking about going but the $440 for tickets just for the 4 of us to get to each of the parks for one day is turning us off. Especially since you also have to add in the higher crowds because of HP.

We would be going the very end of August (the 28- Sept 5). Anyone think they will offer any kind of break on tix for then? DH is the one that has really wanted to do Universal the last few years but even he is saying that maybe we should wait a year or two.

I think there may be some discounts....Just a guess though. My guess is they raised prices so much do be able to offer some kind of discounts and specials to give the illusion that its a good deal.

That would be the smart way to play it but then again they could just be saying we have a product that everyone wants to see and were the only ones who have it so they may hold off and see how it does before offering specials.

I would hold off buying the tickets atm and wait till June to see how it does and if any specials go on then. Will still give you 2 months to get tickets and make arrangements.

Online the only price I see for a one day base ticket is $79 and with tax I understand that is about $86. Is the gate price the same? I didn't see anything that said that this was $10 off of the gate price. We are just going for one day and only doing IOA?

U is much quicker to run limited 'specials' on tix than disney

if 'the gate' is not quite as expected due to HP influx, wouldn't be surprised to see them mid-late summer.
