Hi All!
Thanks to everyone that responded to my first post!! I am learning more and more about DVC here!!

My question is this, I have been reading about a wait list with Disney for add ons at certain resorts. Im wondering is there a wait list for new contracts for a home resort of BWV? I know we would be thrilled to own at WLV but would love to try BWV but have read about some difficulty booking 7 mos out. DH is finally giving total thumbs up for DVC and I dont really want to open the resale can of worms!! We also want to get in before the next price increase!! Also, does anyone think that when BCV are available that may free up some availability at BWV, just a thought?!?!

Thank you all!

Lisa, whose hand is on the phone getting ready to call Jim McCoy!!

Someone posted a couple of days ago that they have stopped the wait list for add-ons by current members. Boardwalk sold out in November, so any straggler contracts should have been picked up by now. If there would be points available (say by buy-backs), current members who have expressed interest would probably get first crack.

BCV will be interesting. I would think it would help availability at BWV. But who knows what the point chart will look like. Also, as time goes by, BWV members will start trading out more often and availabilty should open up as it has at OKW.

Since Boardwalk is sold out you will not be able to purchase a new contract through Disney, you would have to go resale.

And the add on list that you have seen posts about for Boardwalk are no longer either. I have been told that they took everyones name off the list who was already on them. And if Disney did receive points back somehow they were not going to resell them.

I was one of those disappointed wait list people that it did not work out for. So now I am hoping for something to come through resale for me.

And do I think it will easier to book a room at the Boardwalk with the seven month window..I don't know. I guess it will all depend on the point chart for the Beach Club. If the point chart is higher than Boardwalk I think it will be very difficult to get in at the seven month window seeing both resorts are in basically in the same great location. But that is just my opinion.

I'm afraid I can't answer all your questions but I'll try to help with what I've heard or seen here on these boards.

I've heard that the wait list with Disney for add-ons has been discontinued. I've not heard this directly but I've seen posts from people that were either on the list or trying to get on the list. I would imagine that getting BWV points through Disney will be a problem.

I just purchased an OKW resale. It was not a problem at all and I saved money over buying at VWL. I also wanted OKW as my home resort. The one thing that I saw over and over here and I now say the same thing is buy where you want to stay the most. The 11 month booking window is important and if BWV is where you want to be most of the time then I would suggest a resale. It isn't painful at all.

None of us knows anything for sure about BCV. Don't even know for sure that they will be sold as part of our vacation club. Certainly don't know the point costs of a room. If they end up being close to the same as BWV then the load "might" be spread a little in the Boardwalk area. If they are just enough higher, I would have to think that BWV would be just that much more attractive and so continue to be heavily sought after.

Good luck and let us know when we can welcome you home!

Resale was very painless for us. Basically you need to gather all the info you can and decide where and what you want. You can email me for more on BW resale. My personal observation about BW becoming more available when BC opens is that it won't happen. If BC points are much higher- many of them will try BW. So maybe BC will be easier to get into. But my feeling is most people buy BW and will buy BC primarily for location. Many only trade out when they can't get into their home resort- otherwise why would we pay higher dues and points?

Thank you to all who replied!! Before I read the replies I read another post about sorta the same topic and saw the answer there too!

As far as a resale goes, my only concern is that I understand they move quick, as far as 150 BWV resales!! My mom is a real estate agent here in PA and I work in title insurance and we see so many buyers lose homes because they want to think things over!! And we will own this "home" for 42 years, a lot longer than most residential buyers will own our houses (me included!!) I would just be afraid of trying to determine prices and if it is a good contract (banked/borrowed points)and closing costs I would lose the deal. Any tips on that would be great. That is the only benefit with WDW right now is the pressure is not that extreme!!

Thank you again!!

Lisa, who still has the phone in hand, but now scratching her head with more questions that are sometimes more easily answered here because I can just keep posting and not bugging Jim McCoy!!

Hi Lisa - I have no tips for you. We bought OKW when they still had the free passes and when it was the only DVC. Just wanted to say "Hello" from Richboro, Pa.! Good Luck and hopefully soon we will all be saying "Welcome Home" to you. :D

Hi Gale,
Nice to see a local here, and a DVC local to boot!! I used to work in Richboro at the West Coast video, which I believe is no longer!! :(

Thanks for the well wishes, and boy do I hope they can be a reality!!!

Lisa
