Hi! I've been lurking on DIS for a few months, reading posts and dreaming about a honey moon vacation this fall. Long story short, my husband lost his job so our income tax return got diverted to paying rent while he looked for work, so we thought it wouldn't happen. Then he got invited to a contest! He played metroid prime hunters against 7 other players and won the top prize of $10,000!

Since we live in Canada there is no tax, he keeps it all! Not only can we afford to keep paying rent while he hunts for a job, we can make our Disney Dream come true!

We're planning to spend about $3500 (Canadian) on a 7 day trip for the two of us. I'm hoping free dining is still available by the time they send him the money (next week sometime). I looked at all the resorts and decided to go with Coronado Springs rather than deluxe because I feel in love with the pool and the scenary. My second choice is Animal Kingdom.

We're trying to decide whether we should go late august, or late september. Any advice?

I'm just so excited! :Pinkbounc

Congradulations on winning!! :cool1: I was out of work for 5 months and I'm a single mom so I know what it is like not having $$. You will enjoy either resort.

Wow! Congratulations, and welcome to the board!

Depending on where you live in Canada, you might be able to skip across the border and get cheap airfare. We live in Ottawa, and drive about 3.5 hours to Syracuse, NY. It cost about 1/2 to fly out of the US compared to Canada. Lots of people fly Southwest out of Buffalo as well.

I personally would go for the end of September as opposed to the end of August. All the kids will be back in school by then and it should be less crowded.

Congrats and have a great trip!

Congrats on the prize money!!

I would go late Set. The kids are all back in school and it isn't quite as hot as August!
Have fun! pixiedust:

Conrats on the WIN & The Honeymoon!

You picked a great time to GO. I want to stay at the CSR, but the kids wont let me(they are hooked on Pop).....Here is a website devoted to the CSR.

Have Fun planning!!!! :goodvibes

Lol, thanks.

I've noticed a lot of people seem enamored with PO resort, but I'm from Nova Scotia, Canada, so the decor there is hardly new and exciting. I can take a drive into the valley area of my province and see all that architecture (french acadian, coastal).

I've never really been south, so all the pictures of CSR just made me tingle. :P

I can't wait to have an evening swim under the mayan temple, and take a stroll around the beach holding hands with my sweetie. :)

Also, when I suggested CBR my sweetie flat out refused. He just didn't like the look of it. :P

Also, check to see when the Free Dining offer ends -- I think it's tomorrow! You may want to go ahead and book today (you don't have to pay it off all right away).

Regardless, congratulations!
