Private Wedding

My fiance and I are thinking about getting married at Disney when we take our vacation later this year. We don't really want all of the extras involved with going directly through Disney (as we are having a larger affair next year). So, I was wondering if anyone had ever heard of having an officiant come to your hotel room and having a short ceremony out on the balcony. All of this would be done without dealing with Disney. I thought this would be a good option instead of going down to the courthouse for a quick wedding.

I can't see why this would cause any problems, but I would check with the hotel first to be certain.

I saw another post about this, but I can't remember which board it was on. I think you just have to worry about someone coming over to see what's going on, but people have booked suites at their Disney resort and had the officiant come to the room.

If you have the ceremony in your room you shouldn't have any problem with anyone coming over to see what is going on. However, you may have a problem finding an officiant to do it. Many of the officiants who reguarly do Disney weddings may not want to risk their relationship with Disney if they were to be caught doing a 'renegade' ceremony. Good luck!
