My husband is going to Orlando for a convention in January. The convention is hosting a private party in WWOHP after the parks close. Has anyone ever gone to something like this? We pay $50 a ticket and it includes private access to the entire area and rides, free food and open bar (assuming this includes butterbeer :goodvibes). We actually went to WWOHP in June before the Grand Opening and were spoiled by the small crowds. Wondering how this private event will compare. Any thoughts?

:) My daughters are really excited! Have you ever heard how these things go? I wonder if all the stores will be open and how they will do the food.

Someone here did one this fall and thought it was great. Everything in WW was open and there were no waits for anything.

DO IT. Everything is usually open, shops inclusive. For food, Three Broomsticks/Hog's Head should be open. There may be other small tables/catering tables & setups available as well.

Awesome! Thanks, Damo! I am really looking forward to seeing Hogwarts and Hogsmeade at night. And after reading all of the posts on the crowds I guess it is good we have the opportunity to go after hours.
When I read about all of those people going during Thanksgiving Break and having timed entries and super long lines, I was super glad we were going at a quieter time. We are staying at PBR so we can enjoy FOTL and early hour entry as well. I want my girls to get their fill of WWOHP because we won't be able to go back for a while.
We think it is the most amazing theme park we have ever been to. They did an unbelievable job with all the detail. Wonder if they will add anything now that the new movie is out?!:wizard:

Cool!! I was wondering if it would be Three Broomsticks food. My husband hasn't been yet and is looking forward to trying the Hogs Head beer. I had it last June and really liked it. I love that the shops will be open!

$50 is a total bargain! When my company did it the event was AMAZING!! :goodvibes Everything was open, butterbeer was flowing, and we rode FJ over and over! Of course, there were only about 250 people so your event might be more crowded. Still I would go for it at twice the price!!

Wow! Only 250 people! I don't know how many to expect at his event but I am thinking between 500-750. Love hearing that you think it is worth it money-wise. Sounds like your company paid for the whole thing so you went for free.

Yes, do it. :thumbsup2

This would be a no brainer for me. I would love it. The price wouldn't deter me at all. I should mention that I'm a little biased. I was an HP fan before most people ever heard about it, and I read each book multiple times (first with my kids, then by myself). We're rewatching all the HP movies now. #6 is on HBO right now, and we'll see the most recent one tomorrow.

Thanks for all the responses. I feel a lot more confident now about spending the extra money. My girls loved the new movie (I haven't seen it yet). Will the Citywalk Theatre show it for a while you think? Would love to see it in January down there on our trip!:goodvibes

I'll chime in and say "do it!" too. I haven't done one at WWoHP although I've heard good things about private events. But I did do one a few years back in Uni before WWoHP was built in IOA. My admission was included in the convention I was attending, and it was around $50 to bring DH has a guest. Awesome experience! Food, drinks, walk-on rides and they even had some characters around so I'm guessing you might see the Frog Choir etc. at your event.

Thanks Inkkognito! I am really getting psyched now! I'm the type who is always trying to justify spending the money so I've been trying to figure out if we would eat/drink enough to offset costs. But it sounds like the "experience" alone is worth it. Between what my husband can eat, what I can drink and what my two daughters can ride - we should be all set!!
We are also excited to be in WWOHP with DH. The girls and I have already been and LOVED it! He has seen all of US and IOA except WWOHP and we can't wait to get him on FJ!:woohoo:

I am going to one tonight with camera in hand.
My neighbor works for Brighthouse and their annual employee appreciation night is tonight. A private dinner at CW followed by private access to IOA. I am not sure if it is all of IOA or just WWOHP.
My wife usually accompanies her to this event but my wife HATES theme parks so she asked me to go. I of course said, "Uh, Yeah!"

Would love to hear about your evening. Our party is only in WWOHP. That is also where the food and drinks are also.

I too am going to a Convention in January with my friend's family and the company that is holding the Convention is having a private party in IOA/WWOHP.

I wonder if it's the same Convention you're speaking of, CornishPixie?!

I am going at the end of Jan./beginning of Feb. Can't wait to see these pictures. I am so excited for this trip! I visited WWOHP the first day it had a soft opening to the public in May when I was doing my College Program in Disney. I can't wait to return to the glory of Harry Potter!

Have a magical day!

I guess it is not the same one because I will be there a week earlier. But, I will report back on how it went so you will know what to expect. Still would love to see Dznefreek's photos and hear a report. I am looking forward to going back as well. Those pre Official Opening days of WWOHP were awesome! :wizard:

If anyone is talking about the ASI show event on 1/24 DH and I will be there!!

We're very excited, and even better DH was able to get the tix for free!!

We will be there as well! Sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun! I have never been to one of the private events before with ASI. How many people usually show up? We are bringing our daughters with us.
