Private Mixology Class?

Has anyone planned/coordinated a private mixology class on your cruise? WE have a group of us who would like to do the class together, and we know we will never fit into a scheduled class. If you have done this, who did you speak with to arrange it? When did you call to arrange it? Did you get to pick a day/time that was convenient for the group or did DCL give you some options? Any help would be appreciated. No need to recreate the wheel if someone has done this type of thing before. Thanks in advance for your help.

We are doing 2 private mixology classes on our upcoming Fantasy cruise. I called DCL and they submitted a form to the events specialists group. Alma then contacted me directly via e-mail and I was told you need to have at least 20 people, cost is $15 billed to on board account (even if you don't show up). Mixology classes are done on sea days and she gave me the option to choose which day. You will need to finalize your list by providing names, cabin #'s or reservation #'s to DCL 30-45 days in advance. They will then get back to you with final details 7-10 days before you cruise.

The process was extremely simple on the DCL side, the hardest thing is getting room or reservations #'s from your attendees! I'm happy to answer any other questions you may have, just let me know.

Good luck and have fun!

Same thing here, super easy. I started a spreadsheet which everyone entered their info and then once you had 20+ I contacted disney directly.

Thank you all. I appreciate it.

I "thought" it was going to be easy! I submitted an email Request and within a couple of hours had a reply from Alma. Needed 25 people, max was 40 (after that, they'd split into two groups)...held on any sea day at 2:00. Perfect!

Well, I took it to our FB group...had 36 people sign up...got all of their information easily...and then spent over a week trying to get back in touch with Alma to make sure that the 1st sea day would work. We have lots of people with brunches, etc...planned and the 1st sea day was what worked best for everyone. If it couldn't be then, then some would have to drop (which I understand)

Finally got an email back from Alma today saying "the ship has assigned you the 2nd sea day from 4:00-5" and since I had 36 people, they "might now have to move me to a bigger room or split the group". In all of my email and phone messages to her, the number was always 36-38 (it never 'increased'). She initially said "any sea day" and the time was always "2:00". SO, now I'm scrambling (we're 20-something days away from sailing) to find out if everyone can do the 2nd sea day...and the 4:00 time is not going to be ideal for some with main seating.

I know she's bombarded with requests and can't possibly get to them all right away - I get that - but it would have just been helpful to know upfront that it's not just "any" sea day...that you get what the "ship assigns you" and it's not always "2:00"...and they could split the group before it reaches 40...instead of after 40.

Hoping something works out for us!
