Well then- DHS closed at 6:00pm and Epcot at 9:30pm. I'm staying at the Boardwalk. Since MK is opening tomorrow at 8:00am I thought I'd get a good night's sleep to grab Disney transportation at 7:30am. "Not so fast!" says Disney- who apparently threw a private party and launched fireworks at 11:30pm at night! Uh...I'm frequently awaken by loud hotel guests in the hallways (doesn't anybody use their inside voice anymore at night in a hotel?).
Anyone else go to sleep early only to be blasted awake by the fireworks near Epcot? Oh well- could be worse- I'm still in Disneyworld!

I wasn't asleep but it was pretty loud over here at Pop Century. I'm guessing that the Pop Warner crowd had some private fireworks at DHS.

I have severe PTSD and I travel with my white noice machine so that I am not awakened/startled by loud sounds of any kind. It helps me for my needs.
I am sorry that you had to hear the IDIOTS who cannot seem to talk in normal tones. I tell myself while at the parks that Firework sounds happen-and I am better about it. I still get startled, but not as bad.

I hope the rest of your trip was wonderful. :goodvibes

We were at GF in Nov and were trying to have mid trip early night, because everyone was super tired and/or getting sick, which left me with a crazy scratchy throat. We were all either laying in bed or on the floor exhausted, when the fireworks for a private party at the MK, started.

For some reason, I thought it was hilarious to intermittently sing out "WIISSHHEESS!!" at the top of my lungs in the raspiest, nastiest, sick voiced imitation of the soundtrack. We all laughed hysterically the way you do when overly tired. To this day even though we are long home, I will just do it out of nowhere to make everyone laugh. It's one of our funny memories from the trip.

If you stay park adjacent, it's gonna happen. It's one of the things people love about those resorts. Ask housekeeping to send up a fan for white noise or use an app on your phone. It will help with fireworks, inconsiderate guests, and housekeeping carts in the morning.

I live about 20 minutes away from The World and I always say that it reminds me of Mary Poppins, setting their clocks to the cannon shot. We heard Wishes and Illuminations every night, not the music, obviously but the fireworks. :)

On our last trip we were woken after 2 am by parade practice at the Magic Kingdom. It went on until almost 5am. Why they need to use amplification at full volume for practice is beyond me.
