Has anyone done this? I can't find any info on it other than that it is offered. Does anyone know how long it is, etc?
During my 2006 summer vacation, my daughter & I were staying in a Turret Room at the Grand Floridian Resort. We were in our room one afternoon when we heard a
*boom* coming from outside. I looked over at the Wedding Pavilion and saw some fireworks going off. Since it was daylight, the fireworks basically left trails of white smoke behind in the air. I didn't really see any color other than bright flashes of light, but I was told by someone who is very familiar with the fireworks that colors are used and you can see them. The display that I saw lasted about 30 seconds. I'm kicking myself in the butt for not having snapped any photos of it.
*grumble* *grumble* However, if you have been inside the Magic Kingdom Theme Park during the day when a show is going on at the Castle Forecourt Stage, you've probably seen what the fireworks look like in the daylight. What I saw looked basically like that.
I did not have fireworks for my evening vow renewal cermoney inside the Wedding Pavilion. However, I did have a custom fireworks display cap off my evening dinner reception. I won't mention any pricing since what Disney did for me was completely customized, including my selection of a song that had to be blessed (
copyright stuff and all that jazz) and the timing of fireworks that the Disney Pyrotechnics folks had to work out in conjunction with my song, but it was truly one of the most memorable experiences of my life. When my husband and I stood inside the Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park at 2 o'clock in the morning and watched our fireworks go off, it was the most incredible experience. It's too difficult for me to describe but "
humble" is exactly how the two of us felt as we watched our 20th wedding anniversary come to an end,
~sigh.~
I have some photos of my custom display in one of my on-line photo albums:
click here. I also have some video but I haven't shared it publicly yet since I have yet to finish my (ancient!) trip report. I have plans to begin working on it again real soon, and when I do, I will share a link to video of my fireworks display. Stay tuned.
Oh, by the way, I gave Disney permission to share video & photos of my fireworks. If you are really interested in seeing what a customized fireworks display can look like, contact them and ask them for video / photos of "Janet and Rick's" custom vow renewal from October of 2004. They should be able to send you that information.
I hope this helped.
